Far-left ABC’s “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin stepped on multiple rakes while defending illegal immigrants and criticizing President Trump for sending the National Guard to restore order in Los Angeles. Hostin was responding to Sara Haines’ comments accusing President Trump of exploiting the violent anti-ICE riots to boost his popularity, which the far-left journalist erroneously claimed were plummeting dramatically.
However, Haines did correctly point out that the vast majority of Americans were behind Trump’s efforts to remove undocumented individuals from the country.
“But there’s one catch here, current support right now, though, is that 66% of the American public actually thinks it’s crime enough to be undocumented and therefore deported,” Haines said.
However, Hostin was shocked that most Americans support the deportation of illegal immigrants from the country.
“That it’s criminal to be undocumented?” she asked in disbelief.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin affirmed the statement but downplayed the gravity of the violation of the U.S. Constitution.
“Even if it’s a civil offense,” she asserted.
“So what I’m saying is, a massive amount of this country actually agrees with, not how he’s doing it, but with what he’s doing,” Haines added.
However, Haines added that Trump was trying to amplify the anti-ICE riots “because it is the one thing that he remains supported in.”
Nonetheless, Hostin was not quite done defending her untenable position and insisted that being “undocumented” was not illegal.
“Well, let’s fix that right now, because it is not illegal to be undocumented,” she insisted.
“It is not a crime to be undocumented. People are not illegal … We need to put that information out there.”
Reiterating Griffin’s assessment, she also insisted that “It is a civil infraction, not criminal.”
Having failed to steer Hostin towards common sense by speaking over her and reiterating the facts, Griffin took over the conversation and explained the general consensus among Americans.
“I don’t think it’s actually broadly a misunderstanding. I think that 60% of Americans believe that it’s a civil offense and that if you come here and you are undocumented, that you should be deported.”
No matter how hard the left tries to blur the lines between “civil offense” and “felony,” the default punishment for entering the country illegally is 6 months in jail, a $250 fine, and deportation.
Many of the illegal immigrants currently being deported could also face between 10 and 20 years in federal prison due to felony convictions in addition to their undocumented status. Additionally, general reentry means a 2-year prison sentence, in addition to deportation.
Most Americans want people who entered the country illegally to be forcibly removed, and many voted for Trump because of this. According to various polls, the deportation of criminal illegal aliens sees overwhelming support of over 90%.
Hostin is a habitual blabbermouth, to the point of implicating her husband in possibly one of the most egregious medical insurance scams in history.
“Doctors suffer because of big corporations as well, doctors that want to do good like my husband, operates on someone even though they don’t have insurance and then ‘has to sue health insurance companies to get paid for the work that he’s been trained his whole life to do,’ ” she said earlier this year before her husband was named in a RICO lawsuit.
“Dr. Emmanuel ‘Manny’ Hostin knowingly provided fraudulent medical and other healthcare services including arthroscopic surgeries,” the lawsuit claims.
