Anti-Trump RINO Senator Lisa Murkowski Considering Caucusing with Democrats and Becoming an Independent

Turncoat Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) is considering caucusing with Democrats if they retake three additional seats in the Senate during the midterms and split the upper chamber in half. The turncoat Republican hinted at the “interesting” possibility when she appeared on Galen Druke’s podcast to promote her book “Far from Home: An Alaskan Senator Faces the Extreme Climate of Washington, D.C.”

“Say Democrats win three seats in the next midterm election, and say ‘we’re going to let you pass bills that benefit Alaskans if you caucus with us…If you provide the fourth vote we need to get from where we are now,’ would you do it?” Druke asked.

“It’s an interesting hypothetical,” Murkowski responded. “You started off with the right hook here, which is if this would help Alaskans.”

Ironically, Democrats passed various bills and supported numerous executive orders to advance progressive causes that cost Alaska billions of dollars. In 2024, Alaska sued the Biden administration for cancelling the ANWR Oil & Gas Leases, which has cost the state billions of dollars in revenue.

Biden’s methane emission taxes also increased the cost of onshore drilling, hurting the state’s gas and oil industry. All 50 Democrats also voted on a proposal to rescind onshore drilling in Alaska. However, Murkowski believes that Alaskans could benefit by working with Democrats to pass progressive bills.

“There may be that possibility — there is some openness to exploring something different than the status quo,” she added when Druke revisited the topic.

Besides caucusing with Democrats, Murkowski confirmed that she is considering becoming an Independent.

“Is there world in which by becoming unaligned or an Independent that you could help Alaskans, you’d consider it?” Druke asked.

“There may be that possibility,” she responded.

In the meantime, she claims to be a staunch Republican who upholds conservative values such as limited government and support for individual rights.

“I call myself a Republican because of the values I hold, such as personal responsibility, small government, a strong national defense, and the individual’s right to make her own choices,” her book claims. Yet, she opposed the Department of Government Efficiency’s efforts to end wasteful government spending, saying the cuts were “traumatizing people.” She even proposed passing a resolution to prevent the Trump administration from slashing $9.4 billion in foreign aid and funding to leftwing broadcasters.

She has clashed with President Trump on issues of national security, such as the revocation of special protections for Afghan illegal immigrants and the Ukraine war. Murkowski has proposed passing a vote in Congress to prevent Trump from bombing Iran. While she claims to uphold conservative values, her actions suggest she is a Democrat to the core.

Nonetheless, she claims that switching parties is not the solution because Democrats are not “much better” than Republicans, showing her contempt of the GOP.

“My problem with your hypothetical is that as challenged as I think we may be on the Republican side, I don’t see the Democrats being much better,” she said. “And they’ve got not only their share of problems, but quite honestly, they’ve got some policies that I just inherently disagree with.”
