After spending the better part of the week blasting President Trump over the Israel-Iran crisis and his successful Operation Midnight Hammer that obliterated the country’s nuclear sites, the left now claims credit for his success.
Barack Obama’s former aide Johanna Maska said recently that Trump should share the success of his Iran foreign policy with former U.S. presidents, including his former boss and Joe Biden. Maska made the statement during the “CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip” segment when the host attempted to contest Trump’s success by asking whether it was “too early to take a victory lap” and if Iran’s ability to make a nuclear weapon was completely crippled.
“No. I‘ll be glad to take one,” Jennings stated. “Well, functionally we did it, you know, with these strikes. I mean, what he did was a courageous move.”
“Today is a great day for America. It‘s a great day for Western civilization.”
However, Maska downplayed Trump’s heroic action, saying that other Presidents had also considered blowing up Iran’s nuclear sites, paving the way for him to finish the job.
“Scott, my problem is the Trump Administration is taking a victory lap as if they‘re the only ones who planned this. And I understand he took the action, but this action was planned by the military for multiple administrations,” Maska said.
Ironically, Obama and Biden did the complete opposite by rewarding Iran with billions of dollars to accelerate its nuclear program. They also entered into weak agreements that allowed Iran to continue enriching weapons-grade Uranium. Had they not enabled Iran’s nuclear program, Trump’s bombing of the radical Islamic nation would have been unnecessary.
“So, occasionally, occasionally, the correct answer is, ‘Good job, President Trump. Well done.’ Occasionally, that‘s the right answer,” Jennings guided them.
The former Special Assistant to President George W. Bush had tried to help the radical left panelists from embarrassing themselves on national television by advising them against taking an indefensible position on the Iran strike.
“I’m not accustomed to helping them, but before every Democrat goes on TV tonight to embarrass themselves here’s a better answer: Trump was right. Good job, Mr. President. Will save you a lot of trouble and stupid video clips.”
Meanwhile, the left had started early celebrations after the Trump-brokered ceasefire faltered within the early hours when Iran fired a single missile, and Israel responded by resuming its bombing campaign.
However, while most Democrats were skeptical of the Israel-Iran ceasefire, some who have a deep understanding of the complex situation rationally approached the issue.
“Bottom line, this is about the best place we can be,” said Brett McGurk, Biden’s National Security Council coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa. “I give extremely high marks to this national security team and President Trump for managing this crisis and getting where we are.”
Numerous Democratic lawmakers have also supported Trump’s strike. Sen. John Fetterman (D‑PA) described Trump’s strike as the “correct move by POTUS,” while Rep. Tom Suozzi (D‑NY‑3) said everything must be done to stop Iran from having a nuclear weapon.
“Iran is a terrorist nation, and we must do everything we can to stop it from acquiring a nuclear weapon,” Suozzi tweeted.
Others include Rep. Ritchie Torres (D‑NY‑15), who called the operation a “decisive destruction,” and Rep. Greg Landsman (D‑OH‑1), who called the move “good for those who want peace.”
“The decisive destruction of the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant prevents the dangerous spread of nuclear weapons in the world’s most combustible region,” Torres X’ed. “ No one truly committed to nuclear nonproliferation should mourn the fall of Fordow.”
“… it absolutely means that the regime has been further weakened – which is good for those who want peace,” Landsman tweeted.
Reps. Don Davis (D‑NC‑1) and Josh Gottheimer (D‑NJ) also supported Trump’s Operation Midnight Hammer that obliterated Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan nuclear sites.
Nonetheless, most Democrats have yet to learn that Trump’s diplomacy through strength mantra has never failed. They blasted him when he took out Iran’s Revolutionary Guard head General Qassem Soleimani, claiming that the “unauthorized” move would plunge the Middle East into another endless crisis and endanger the lives of Americans.
However, when the dust settled, America was safer, and the head of the snake had been severely crushed.
