Sen. Mike Lee Exposes Democrats’ Scheme to Rule America for the Next 100 Years
Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) has painted a bleak future for American politics should Democrats sweep the 2024 elections. The Chair of the Joint Economic Committee warned of a well-calculated plan by Democrats to consolidate power for the next 100 years by implementing some backdoor changes.
Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has expressed optimism about securing both houses in the November elections
“It is well within our reach to hold onto the majority in the Senate and take back the House,” she said.
Sen. Lee warns that Democrats will nuke the filibuster on the first day, pack the Supreme Court on the second, grant statehood to Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico on the third, enact federal takeover of elections, redistricting, and campaigns, and thereafter, rule for the next 100 years.
“Day 1: Nuke the filibuster,” Lee tweeted. “Day 2: Pack SCOTUS. Day 3: Make DC & PR states. Day 4: Enact federal takeover of elections/redistricting/campaigns. Days 5 – 36,500: Rule America uncontested for 100 years.”
In 2021, then chair of the House Judiciary Committee Rep. Jerry Nadler and Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts introduced a bill to expand SCOTUS from nine to 13 justices, a move the former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi described as an “idea that should be considered.”
The Democratic lawmakers accused Republicans of stealing the Court majority after confirming Justice Amy Coney Barrett. Should Democrats control both houses, they would ram the proposal to maintain an iron grip on the country’s top judicial institution.
Harris has also supported ending the filibuster to push abortion rights with a simple majority. Currently, 60 Senate votes are required to push a proposal to the final vote.
“We should eliminate the filibuster for Roe and get us to the point where 51 votes would be what we need to actually put back in law the protections for reproductive freedom,” Harris said.
Similarly, granting Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico statehood would give Democrats additional progressive seats in both houses, allowing them to overcome the filibuster and pack the Supreme Court with ease.
Lastly, Democrats’ attempt to take over federal elections is also well documented. In 2022, Democratic lawmakers introduced the For the People Act purporting to enhance election rights but whose “real goal is to hand state and local control of elections over to the federal government and tip the scale in their favor at the poll.”
Besides exposing the plan to rule for 100 years, Sen. Lee has continued defending Trump from Democratic onslaught. Earlier, the Republican lawmaker lashed out at Vice President Harris for portraying Trump as a “weak” president for proposing ending the Ukraine War to stop the loss of lives.
Harris had tweeted that “the President of the United States must always be on the side of freedom,” to which Lee replied:
“Exactly. That’s why most of us are voting for Trump.”
Sen. Lee has also suggested replacing the GOP’s elephant mascot with Peanut the squirrel’s.
“The elephant is cool, but elephants don’t live in America,” Sen. Lee said. “Squirrels do! Let’s immortalize Peanut the Squirrel. Let’s make him the official mascot of the GOP.”
“If Trump wins, the GOP should get rid of the elephant and adopt the squirrel as its symbol,” he X’ed.
