Sen. Mike Lee Calls Out Liz Cheney Over Potential Cover-Up of FBI’s Role in Jan 6

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) is calling into question former Rep. Liz Cheney’s knowledge of FBI informants among January 6 protesters.

During the January 6th Committee hearings, Cheney lashed out at anybody asking whether the FBI had inside sources and the scope of their involvement.

However, a new report by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz disclosed that the agency had 26 informants among protesters.

Interestingly, the agency had directed only three FBI human assets to attend the January 6 protests, bringing the contribution of the rest into question. The report also says the remaining 23 agents traveled “on their own initiative and were not tasked by the FBI to do so.”

They also faced no charges for participating in the protests. However, countless other non-violent protesters faced serious charges, for entering the Capitol Buildings and looking around.

Lee reiterated that Americans have always questioned whether FBI agents were involved in what was happening on the ground. Yet, Cheney chastised anybody who sought clarification on the matter, suggesting that she was trying to bury the truth.

“But what I do know is this: It’s very strange that she would call people who were raising these questions nut jobs, nut cases, whatever it is that she wanted to say, when she herself, a member of this Jan. 6 investigative committee, had access to a lot of information,” Sen. Lee said, according to the Washington Examiner.

Lee also asked if former Rep. Cheney knew that the Inspector General had included this information or already knew he would. If so she potentially had secret information, likely among hundreds of sources mysteriously that disappeared when Republicans flipped the House in 2022.

“This begs the question: Did she know, in fact, that what Mr. Horowitz put out recently in the inspector general report? Did she know this already? If so, why was she up there, calling into question the sanity of anyone if even raising the question?”

The Utah senator had accused Cheney of hiding information and ensuring that Americans watched the same footage of the January 6 protests repeatedly, seemingly to conceal the truth. “It’s the other stuff—what you deliberately hid from us—that we find so upsetting,” Sen. Lee said in 2023.

Interestingly, Cheney is among Biden’s allies recommended for a blanket presidential pardon to avoid retribution by the incoming president.

Yet, Cheney has not committed any crimes that could warrant a presidential pardon, except for perhaps, potentially tampering with evidence regarding the January 6 protests.

Trump has threatened January 6th Committee members with imprisonment for tampering with evidence. He directly singled out Cheney for allegedly tampering with evidence to interfere with his prosecution.

“Why did American Disaster Liz Cheney, who suffers from TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome), and was defeated for Congress by the largest margin for a sitting Congressman or Congresswoman in the history of our Country, ILLEGALLY DELETE & DESTROY most of the evidence, and related items, from the January 6th Committee of Political Thugs and Misfits,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

When asked if Cheney should receive a presidential pardon, Sen. said he did not have a conclusive answer on the matter but stressed that “a bunch of stuff missing” from evidence on the January 6th protests.

According to Lee, the Inspector General’s report “confirmed that I had good reasons to ask these questions,” adding that he was “ready to accept her apology.”

While some accuse the FBI of being responsible for the violence witnessed during the January 6 protests, others have called out the agency’s glaring failure to prevent it. “The intelligence failures in the lead-up to January 6th were not failures to obtain intelligence indicating the potential for violence,” a June 2023 report stated.

Instead, it blames the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI for failing “to fully and accurately assess the severity of the threat.”

The report also claims that the agents were tasked with observing “specific domestic terrorism case subjects” and none were “authorized by the FBI to enter the Capitol or a restricted area or to otherwise break the law on January 6.”

Meanwhile, Cheney’s reaction toward questions about the FBI’s involvement in the January 6 protests, casts doubts on whether the former congresswoman knew nothing about the the agency’s involvement. It also raises questions about why Cheney did not want anybody to discuss the issue.

  1. Liz Cheney is a twisted, angry, confused and hateful person. She can’t stand the fact that Trump won’t accept the “ Ole Boy” system and fight to erase the Deep States that she is a part of…. Trump should prosecute her for just cause. Love to see her spend time behind bars.
Good riddance to a bad seed.

  2. I know!!! Send Durham in to investigate! What a load- we ALWAYS get to read about the crimes the communists have gotten away with years later and nothing EVER happens. Horowitz must be mentally impaired because a retarded chimpanzee could’ve written this bogus report in five minutes. Yawn.
