Meta to Discontinue Fact-Checking, Admits Political Bias, Plus Other Big Changes
Mark Zuckerberg’s red pill journey has reached another milestone today.
The founder of Facebook announced today that his company Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads) will stop using fact-checkers because they are too politically biased.
The company will transition to using community-based “notes” similar to what Elon Musk started on X.
Zuckerberg admitted that in their efforts to battle “disinformation”, his platforms went too far in censoring content from opposing views.
He laid out a multi-point plan to “get back to our roots” of what Facebook was made to be, a place for personal expression.
Another part of his new plan is to move the content-moderation teams from California to Texas.
Zuckerberg also admitted that the inspiration for these moves was the feeling that things have changed after the 2024 election of Donald Trump.
He says that Meta will look to partner with Trump and his administration to push back on global censorship around the world.
His announcements come just a day after appointing UFC CEO Dana White to the Board of Directors of Meta.
White has been a fierce advocate for free speech during his time in the public eye.
Let’s see if this new found “Commitment to the Truth” is anything more than a last ditch effort to stay “Relevant”. Let’s see what happens after Trump is out of office or if the Demoncrats take back one or more of the levers of government. Have a funny feeling this “Come to Jesus Moment” will end very quickly.
