CNN Bans Ryan Girdusky after the “Exploding Beeper” Comment in Response to Trump-Hitler Comparison

CNN has banned NewsNight With Abby Phillip guest Ryan Girdusky after making an exploding beeper comment about British journalist Mehdi Hasan.

Girdusky and Hasan got into a heated argument after the former noted that the mainstream media was okay with comparing former president Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler.

Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Waltz said there was a “direct parallel” between Trump Rally and the American Nazi Party event held at the same venue in 1939.

“Donald Trump’s got this big rally going at Madison Square Garden,” Walz said. “There’s a direct parallel to a big rally that happened in the mid-1930s at Madison Square Garden.”

Appearing on CNN’s sit-down with Kaitlin Collins on Thursday, the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton also accused Trump of trying to reenact the February 1939 Nazi MSG rally.

In 2023, CNN’s Jake Tapper also compared Trump’s “poisoning the blood” statements to Hitler’s Mein Kampf writings. However, the cable news network has never chastised any of its journalists, guests, or politicians for comparing Trump to Hitler.

Nonetheless, Hasan somehow claimed to both agree that comparing Trump to Hitler was inflammatory but then accused the former president of making statements that resonated with the German dictator such as “the enemy from within” comments at MSG. Or in other words, “I’m not saying he’s a Nazi, but he’s a Nazi.”

“But if you don’t want to be called Nazis, stop doing, stop saying,” Hasan said before Girdusky chimed in to accuse him of being “an anti-Semite more than anyone at this table.” Hasan didn’t deny the allegation, only saing he was used to being referred to as an anti-Semite because he supports Palestinians.

“I am in support of the Palestinians, so I am used to it,” said the Qatar-funded Al Jazeera’s Head to Head show host and media company Zeteo founder.

“Well, I hope your beeper doesn’t go off,” Girdusky said, referring to exploding Hezbollah pagers that killed nearly 40 people and injured thousands.

Shock ensued.

“Did you just say I should die? Did you just say I should be killed?” Hasan asked, after Girdusky implied the exact opposite.

Phillip, the show host, referred to the comments as “completely out of pocket,” adding that a line had been crossed and that it was unacceptable. Girdusky explained he though Hasan had described himself as a Hamas supporter and unfortunately apologized.

Then CNN quickly removed Girdusky from the show and banned him from appearing on the network.

“There is zero room for racism or bigotry at CNN or on our air,” said CNN in a statement.

“We aim to foster thoughtful conversations and debate including between people who profoundly disagree with each other in order to explore important issues and promote mutual understanding.”

“Ryan Girdusky will not be welcomed back at our network.”

Girdusky responded by saying he was “glad America gets to see what CNN stands for.”

“You can stay on CNN if you falsely call every Republican a Nazi and have taken money from Qatar-funded media,” Girdusky posted on X. “Apparently you can’t go on CNN if you make a joke.”

Meanwhile, Democrats were still blaming Trump after comedian Tony Hinchcliffe described Puerto Rico as an island of floating garbage despite the campaign distancing itself from the statement.

They sure are desperate for an “October surprise.”

  1. Mehdi Hasan is absolutely an antisemite. His recorded statements at a mosque pulpit show him to be, at the very least, a terrorist supporter. Girdusky’s comment about the beeper weren’t just funny, but it brought attention to his terrorist sympathies. CNN’s defense of Hasan only go to show CNN’s sympathies. It was once said that anti-Catholic sentiment was the last acceptable discrimination. Apparently anti-Israel and/or anti-Jewish sentiment (and thereby pro-terrorist sympathy) is back on the menu.

  2. The “people” that actually watch CNN will not see nor recognize the double standard. A fool sees what he believes.

  3. Where exactly are these “direct parallels” to the 39 Nazi rally in MSG…it wasn’t even located on Pennsylvania Ave. in 1939…it was on 8th Ave.
Oddly enough, and like the KKK, most Nazis were actually either Democrats or closely aligned with Democrats 1939.
“Hitler had big rallies, Trump has big rallies…ergo, Trump is Hitler and his supporters are all Nazi’s” This is the “logic” of your typical Democrat.
Well Hitler also wore brown suits…you know who else wears brown suits…Yeah, Kamala Harris. And since Hitler also had a FUPA and Harris also has a FUPA, I guess Kamala is also Hitler…Hitler was probably trans…so it works.
