Dead Wrong: Biden Disappoints Corporate Media, Pardons Hunter, Here’s the List of Lies They Told Americans

The Leftist corporate media convinced millions of Americans that outgoing President Joe Biden would not pardon his son, who was found guilty of numerous federal crimes.

Biden’s Department of Justice found Hunter guilty of lying on a federal document and lying to a gun dealer about his drug addiction problem while buying a firearm. He was subsequently found guilty of possessing a firearm despite having a drug problem.

Hunter pleaded guilty to three felonies and six misdemeanors, including failure to pay $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019. The president’s son was awaiting sentencing before his dad pardoned him.

When constantly asked if he would pardon his son if found guilty, Biden assured Americans that he would not.

“I’m extremely proud of my son, Hunter. He has overcome an addiction,” Biden said. 

“He’s one of the brightest, most decent men I know. And I am satisfied that I’m not going to do anything. I said I abide by the jury decision, and I will do that, and I will not pardon him.”

Subsequently, corporate media journalists rushed to convince Americans that Biden, then expected to win a second term in the White House, would prioritize law over family and not pardon Hunter.

“People who insist Biden will pardon Hunter after specifically ruling it out are telling on themselves,” said former CNN White House correspondent John Harwood back in June.

Grabien’s Tom Elliot put together a nine minute compilation of the mainstream media lying to the American public about a Hunter pardon.

“Well, tonight, a presidential promise to put the law before a family,” said CNN journalist Laura Coates as the video begins.

“Well, that’s President Joe Biden in a critically important global huddle, letting the world know that he will not wipe away the decision of 12 of his son’s peers to convict him of federal gun charges,” she added, reporting on Biden’s since-broken promise h e wouldn’t pardon Hunter.

Similarly, during CNN’s Newsnight with Abby Phillip, the failing media outlet tried to convince Americans that Biden would not pardon his son.

However, one of the Newsnight guests, Jason Osborne, was adamant that Biden would honor the federal court’s decision. “And in the interests of, I think, Hunter Biden, let’s be clear, he’s going to get pardoned by his dad,” Osborne asserted. “There’s no question about that.” 

Nonetheless, the CNN host would have none of that. She insisted that Biden would not pardon Hunter if the Justice System found him guilty. “And just to be, just to be clear, the president has ruled out pardoning his son for those,” Phillip insisted.

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins also tried to convince Americans that Biden was committed to upholding the rule of the law. “A major commitment from the president, accepting the outcome of the trial, and also pledging not to pardon his son,” she said.

Molly Jong-Fast, an MSNBC guest, also attempted to convince Americans that Biden was different, unlike “Trumpism’s dangerousness” that tries to tear down our democratic institutions. “I think Joe Biden has a chance here to stand up for the rule of law to say the rule — the law is the law, no matter who it is, no matter if it’s Trump or Biden,” he said.

Other Leftist media mouthpieces also went into action praising Biden’s decision not to intervene.

“The contrast is profound. To sit there and say, well, I’m not going to intervene in the legal process, and I wouldn’t pardon my son,” CNN’s S.E. Cupp gloated. “One side, Democrats and Joe Biden protecting the justice system, and on the other, Republicans and Trump protecting Trump.”

Another Leftist, Andrew Weissmann, a former federal prosecutor, told MSNBC that Biden’s conduct was distinct from Trump’s.  “He is not pardoning his son, which he could do. These are federal charges,” he said. “He is not doing that. He is not doing it because he is living what it means to have a rule of law in this country.”

Neal Katyal, another MSNBC host, lambasted conservatives for “crowing about a politicized Justice Department,” adding that Biden would not pardon his “only living son.”

“He even went so far as to say he wouldn’t pardon his son. That’s how much respect he has for the system,” he said.

However, President Biden made a U-turn and offered Hunter a “Full and Unconditional Pardon” for convicted federal crimes and others he might have committed between January 1, 2014, and December 1, 2024. “… I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making,… even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted,” Biden justified the decision.

“It is clear that Hunter was treated differently.”

Unsurprisingly, many Americans believe Hunter was treated differently because he was the president’s son. Ordinary Americans would be staring directly at the possibility of serving multiple lengthy sentences in federal prison for similar offenses.

Ironically, Liberals have repeatedly expressed concerns at the prospects of Trump pardoning January 6 detainees, many of whom are yet to receive a decent trial. Responding to Hunter’s pardon, Trump asked if the January 6 hostages deserve the same treatment.

“Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years?” Trump asked. “Such an abuse and miscarriage of justice.”

Even stalwart Democrats were outraged by Biden’s pardon. Rep. Greg Stanton (D-Ariz.), who described Hunter’s trial as a “politically-motivated prosecution,” said Biden got this one wrong.”

However, Biden was not wrong. Only Democratic voters and the mainstream media were wrong to underestimate Biden’s disregard for the law and appetite for nepotism.
