Ex-Coast Guard Lieutenant Arrested for Allegedly Threatening Trump’s Life And Calling for His Assassination

Another suspect is in custody for allegedly threatening to assassinate President Donald Trump amid ongoing violence encouraged by the left.

Former Coast Guard lieutenant Peter Stinson, who served between 1988 and 2021, was taken into custody after suggesting that the president should be “[L]uigied.” The term seems to refer to Luigi Mangione, the alleged assassin of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, who was fatally shot on December 4, 2024. Luigi faces numerous state and federal charges, including murder and terrorism related to the shooting incident.

The former Coast Guard lieutenant also allegedly made various visual threats involving guns, knives, and poison on several social media platforms, including X and the leftist platform BlueSky. Stinson also referenced the recently controversial “8647” post on X by former FBI Director James Comey, which the intelligence community and government officials suggest calls for the assassination of President Trump.

“The post by Comey was interpreted in the news media as a violent threat to President Trump and prompted an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security and the United States Secret Service. STINSON has since made 13 additional posts on Bluesky including the text, ‘8647’,” the indictment stated.

Court documents also allege that the suspect identifies as a member of the violent leftist group, ANTIFA.

“Sure. This is war. Sides will be drawn. Antifa always wins in the end. Violence is inherently necessary,” the suspect posted on X.

“When he dies, the party is going to be yuge,” the suspect also posted on BlueSky.

Stinson was still serving when he allegedly began making threats against Trump’s life in 2020. He was an experienced sharpshooter, although he referenced “not having the necessary skills” to assassinate someone.

“I would do it. I would take the fall to save America. Too bad I don’t have the operational skills to pull it off. I am willing to serve in a support capacity for someone else with the skills to take care of things,” he posted.

“What a fucking moron. Would someone just pull the proverbial trigger, please,” he also posted on BlueSky.

“Target practice tonight. I set some orange on the railing. Let’s shoot some oranges! Plink. Plunk. Boom. Bop.”

Recently, North Carolina Democratic State Rep. Julie Von Haefen attracted widespread criticism after posting photos of a woman displaying a guillotine and President Trump’s life-sized head photos related to a “No Kings” protest she attended.

“In these difficult times some cuts may be necessary,” the guillotine picture was captioned.

The violence from the left is one of the greatest existential threats the country faces at this time. CNN’s token conservative voice, Scott Jennings, recently warned that the left seems to have a problem with violence.

“The left has a problem with violence. It is in its heart right now,” he warned, to which one of the leftist panelists claimed both parties were responsible for violence.

“What person on the right is committing violence today?” Jennings asked, to which the leftist panelist justified by saying those in power do not usually perpetrate violence.
