Trump’s Border Advisor Tom Homan reacted humorously to the New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s threat regarding the possible arrest of Democrats who stormed an ICE facility.
“You lay a finger on someone, on Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman … or any of the representatives that were there, you lay a finger on them, we are going to have a problem,” AOC said in an Instagram post.
AOC had also described Homan and the Secretary of State, Kristi Noem, as the “people who are breaking the law” and “not abiding by it.”
“If anyone’s breaking the law in this situation, it’s not members of Congress, it’s the Department of Homeland Security,” she said. “It’s people like Tom Homan and Secretary Kristi Noem.”
Appearing on Newsmax, Homan mocked the far-left Squad member’s threat, saying, “I’m extremely intimidated,” adding that she was full of it. He also warned the outspoken Green New Deal Marxist that being a lawmaker does not allow someone to break the law without consequences.
“She’s been yelling and screaming for the last four years. No one is above the law, including members of Congress.”
“When you cross that line, we will ask the Attorney General to prosecute, and that’s what we’re doing.”
Homan also added that a “lot of video” was being reviewed, and witness statements were being taken to determine the next course of action.
He also highlighted the hypocrisy of the Democrats demanding due process for hardened criminals while simultaneously trying to shut down the facility that provides the same.
Talking to Fox News reporters, Homan advised AOC to concentrate on her job and make the country safer.
“I wish she’d do her job. She’s a legislator, right? Why doesn’t she pass some legislation… and actually improve this country like President Donald Trump is already doing?” Homan retorted.
“I’m doing my job: the border is secure. We arrested three times more criminals than Biden did. We’re doing our job. She should try doing her job.”
On CNN, Homan said AOC could not intimidate him and that the administration has done more than she has to make her state safe.
“I was wearing the green uniform, border patrol agent for five years before she was even born,” he said.
“This administration has done more to protect her district than she has. The number of criminal aliens we took off the streets in New York made her community much safer.”
Previously, Homan had disclosed writing to the Chief Justice to determine if AOC’s seminar advising illegal immigrants on how to avoid deportation amounted to obstruction of ICE or aiding illegal aliens.
In response, AOC said she was unafraid because she was exercising her Freedom of Speech to educate people about their constitutional rights.
“To that I say: Come for me, do I look like I care?” she retorted.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries also recently warned the Trump administration against crossing the “red line” by arresting Democratic lawmakers who stormed the ICE facility.
“They’ll find out. They’ll find out. They’ll find out. It’s a red line. They know better than to go down that road. There are clear lines that they dare not cross,” he said when asked to explain what will happen.
Meanwhile, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin has suggested that, “There will likely be more arrests coming” from the ICE facility incident.
