Disgraced former FBI director James Comey is now threatening President Donald Trump’s supporters—just days after posting a photo on social media that many interpreted as a call for the president’s assassination.
Comey sparked outrage last week after he posted a cryptic message to his Instagram account, spelling out in seashells: “86 47.”
“Cool shell formation on my beach walk,” Comey said in the caption.
The numbers caused a firestorm online.
“86” is common slang for killing someone, while “47” refers to Donald Trump, who would be the 47th president if re-elected. It doesn’t take a genius to see this wasn’t likely an accident.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Comey later appeared on MSNBC with former Biden press secretary Jen Psaki to discuss the now-infamous post, Trump’s supposed “bullying” of him, and the FBI’s work under Trump ally Kash Patel. Unsurprisingly, Comey voiced strong disapproval.
The conversation took a darker turn when Psaki and Comey began discussing the Trump DOJ’s dismantling of the Office of Public Integrity.
Earlier this year, multiple members of the unit resigned after refusing to sign off on the DOJ’s withdrawal of a federal corruption case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
The dissolution of the ‘Public Integrity Office’ was part of broader reforms by the Trump administration aimed at curbing the perceived weaponization of government agencies.
These changes also included the FBI’s Washington Field Office shutting down its federal public corruption squad—the same unit that had assisted special counsel Jack Smith’s politically charged investigation of Trump.
While Trump has repeatedly called out these investigations as politically motivated, Comey dismissed the concerns—and then issued a chilling warning to Trump supporters.
“These are the people who, through decades and decades, have seen every kind of case,” Comey stated.
“And so they’re there to make sure that the work, no matter who’s in charge in the White House, no matter who the attorney general is, that the work is done consistently with previous practice and consistent with the law.”
“I know Republicans these days aren’t big in thinking about principle or precedent,” Comey added.
“They’re gonna be deeply sorry that that disappears, because someday there will be a Democratic president and there’ll be investigations of Republican officeholders.”
“If I’m them, I sure would want these career people in place making sure that it’s done in the right way.”

Well, either they did not step up and do their job to make sure things were done the right way or they were in on it. Either way, they demonstrated through action or inaction that they do not have the integrity required to keep the unit in place.
