Liberal Heckler Gets Reality Check From Nancy Mace in Public Meltdown

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) posted video footage over the weekend of a profanity-laced confrontation with a constituent while shopping at a beauty store in South Carolina.

The exchange occurred Saturday and quickly drew attention after Mace uploaded the footage to social media, where she described the individual as an “unhinged lunatic.”

The man, who was not identified, approached Mace while she was shopping and challenged her about whether she planned to hold any town halls in 2025.

Mace responded by stating that she had already conducted one town hall this year, had hosted approximately a dozen in the previous year, and intends to hold “plenty more.”

“You’re always invited,” Mace said in the video.

“And by the way, I voted for gay marriage twice.”

The man, wearing cut-off shorts, responded by questioning the relevance of Mace’s reference to gay marriage.

“There’s no other humane thing you can talk about me than to say, ‘Oh, I support gay marriage.’ That’s the whole deal,” he said

Mace pushed back, “Uh-huh, yeah, because you’re getting in my face about a town hall — you could’ve gone last year.”

The video shows the confrontation escalating as the man continued questioning her, accusing her of not holding enough events to engage with voters in the district.

“I asked if you were doing any this year. It was one simple question,” he said.

“Do you want to keep going? You want to keep harassing me?” Mace replied, pointing out that she had held numerous events previously.

As tensions rose, Mace expressed frustration with political activists on the left.

“Where were you before that or the year before that? Or you know what, because you people on the left are crazy. You’re absolutely f**king crazy,” she said. “And get out of my face.”

The man eventually turned and walked away, at which point the confrontation continued with both parties exchanging profanities.

Mace told him, “F**k you,” and added, “You couldn’t take me on, baby. Stay the f**k away from me.”

The man responded by calling her a “nasty bitch” and a “disgrace to the state.”

Mace attempted to ask the man for his name, but he refused to identify himself.

The incident comes amid increased tensions between Republican lawmakers and some progressive activists who have disrupted GOP events in recent months.

Viral videos have circulated showing Republican members being heckled during town halls and other public events, particularly in light of ongoing debates over President Donald Trump’s policies and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiatives.

Last month, House Republican leadership reportedly advised members to consider hosting virtual town halls, citing organized efforts to confront and protest lawmakers during in-person events.

Also in March, Mace received criticism for not attending a town hall hosted by the Lowcountry Accountability Alliance.

At the time, she cited safety concerns and threats as the reason for her absence.

“We’re staying away because it’s not safe, and we refuse to be bullied by individuals who are threatening me, my employees, and my family,” she wrote in a post on X.

Mace was first elected to the House in 2020.

After redistricting shifted the political makeup of her district, she won reelection last year by over 16 points.

Following the confrontation, she wrote on X, “I just wanted some face wash on my afternoon off lol,” in reference to where the incident took place.
