MSNBC’s Yamiche Alcindor appeared visibly emotional on Monday after the Trump administration granted refugee status to a group of white South Africans fleeing violent persecution.
Alcindor accused the administration of racism and portrayed the decision as racially motivated.
“They’re saying that essentially these white South Africans assimilate better and they’re also not as much of a security risk,” she said.
“That’s really causing a lot of people to be appalled, frankly.”
Alcindor argued that violence in South Africa affects “every single race,” but she appeared to overlook reports showing that white farmers, particularly in rural areas, face disproportionate levels of targeted attacks.
She continued:
President Donald Trump was asked why his administration would prioritize white Afrikaner refugees from South Africa over asylum-seekers from war-torn African nations.
“I also should tell people that this violence that they’re talking about, that they’re dealing with — these Afrikaners — I’ve been hearing from people that say there is violence in South Africa, but it’s affecting everybody of every single race.”
Watch:
Trump responded directly:
“Because they’re being killed, and we don’t want to see people be killed.”
“Now, South Africa leadership is coming to see me, I understand, sometime next week. I don’t know how we can go unless that situation’s taken care of.”
Trump described the violence against white farmers as “a genocide.”
“It’s a genocide that’s taking place that you people don’t want to write about,” he told reporters.
“And farmers are being killed. They happen to be white.”
He then criticized media bias:
“If it were the other way around, they’d talk about it. That would be the only story they’d talk about.”
The controversy emerged after the first group of white South Africans—mostly Afrikaners—arrived at Dulles International Airport under Trump’s new refugee resettlement initiative, signed in February.
The executive order fast-tracks asylum for Afrikaners, citing “race-based persecution” from the South African government, and gives priority to their applications over other refugee claims.
Civil rights group AfriForum has documented hundreds of attacks on South African farms over the past decade, many involving torture, rape, and murder. Most victims were white landowners.
Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau welcomed the refugees, stating:
“I want you all to know that you are really welcome here and that we respect what you have had to deal with these last few years.”

Liberals and the Socialist media want to make an issue out of white people being brought into the country, while Biden spent four years bringing DEI types from Haiti and Africa with no skills, no education and looking for welfare…
Nice to see white Afrikaners who are educated, skilled, cultured, white people instead of the DEI trash Biden let into the country.
