Video streaming site Netflix has suffered a wave of cancellations following its co-founder Reed Hastings’ seven million dollar donation to Kamala Harris.

Hastings publicly endorsed Harris earlier this year and revealed a whopping $7 million donation to her campaign. Reed’s donations caused his company’s cancellation rate to skyrocket, reaching its highest monthly figure since February. Over 2 million subscribers have since ditched Netflix.

On July 26, Bloomberg reported the worst single day for Netflix cancellations this year.

Hastings also previously donated $3 million to a committee created to stop a recall effort against Gov. Gavin Newsom, and donated to his campaign. He also donated to a left-wing group trying to prevent liberal San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin from being recalled.

  1. This guy needs to be canceled.
I dropped NetFlix last month when I saw how political they were. I hope the investors are watching.
