Scott Jennings Shreds Cory Booker’s “Record-Breaking” Senate Speech, Denounces it as a Futile Charade

The sole conservative CNN commentator Scott Jennings has deconstructed Cory Booker’s lackluster speech in the Senate that was lauded as the longest in the history of the upper chamber. From the onset, the New Jersey Democrat aimed to break Strom Thurmond’s record for the longest speech in the Senate, which he claimed was a “strange shadow hang over this institution.”

“I just found it strange that he had the record. And as a guy who’s grew up with the legends of the civil rights movement, myself, my parents and other their friends, it just seemed wrong,” Booker said.

During the speech, Booker rambled on about various liberal issues that had little to do with passing legislation or blocking President Trump’s nominees, so it was not technically a filibuster. Among the issues he talked about were unfounded allegations of American history being “whitewashed” and “homogenized” and minorities and women being erased from the military and websites. However, his Democratic friends spurred him on to keep ranting, keeping important lawmaking business at a standstill.

While many Democrats celebrated the milestone, Jennings embarked on a journey to deconstruct the speech, which he called out for the futile charade it was.

“It is a feat of longevity. I’m not sure what the point of it is. He didn’t stop any legislation. He didn’t hold up any nominations. He said it was a moral moment,” Jennings stated.

Jennings deduced that Booker considers half of the country immoral for electing Donald Trump. For Democrats, having a different political opinion makes someone a horrible person. Since Dems thrive on name calling, they have labeld Republican supporters with various derogatory terms, such as deplorables and Nazis.

“And that kind of messaging to me is exactly what’s been plaguing the Democrats for – certainly in the last election and the last several months is this idea, this hatefulness towards your fellow Americans because they chose a different party or voted a different way.”

Jennings also suggested that the speech was an attempt by Booker to position himself strategically as the party leader. Kamala Harris’ humiliating defeat caused the party’s leadership to disintegrate, leaving it leaderless after operating for so long on autopilot while Biden hid in the basement.

Evidently, there is a covert power struggle, with each radical leftist becoming more outspoken in a desperate attempt to establish themselves as the leader of the left. The trick seems to be working, with some beginning to perceive the ultra radical left New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) or Sen. Bernie Sanders as the most likely national party leaders. The duo has been touring the country with their “Stop the Oligarchy” tour, attracting decent crowds. Consequently, Jennings believes that Booker is also involved in this clandestine power struggle.

“And Cory Booker, I think, is trying to fill a vacuum,” Jennings added. “There’s no real leadership nationally in the Democratic Party. Obviously, they don’t have any confidence in Schumer, they’ve had a lot of radical voices out there who are trying to take control of the party.

“So maybe this was an attempt by him to try to wrest control of at least the spiritual leadership of the national party.”

However, Jennings poured cold water on the idea by suggesting that Booker had little chance of becoming the Democratic Party leader.

“I don’t know if it will work,” he said.

Others, such as Texas Democrat Jasmine Crockett, are also seemingly trying to drown out the voices of other potential contenders by stirring controversy.
