Shortly before leaving the White House, outgoing president Joe Biden pardoned his siblings and their spouses, James Biden, Sara Jones Biden, Valerie Biden Owens, John Owens, and Francis Biden. However, none of the individuals have been charged with any crimes.
Nonetheless, Biden said the pardons were necessary to shield them from “politically motivated investigations,” which could irreparably damage the target of an investigation.
“Even when individuals have done nothing wrong and will ultimately be exonerated, the mere fact of being investigated or prosecuted can irreparably damage their reputations and finances,” he said.
Trump responded to the preemptive family pardons by saying they made him look very guilty.
“I was surprised that President Biden would go and pardon his own family, because that makes him look very guilty.”
While the legacy media allowed Biden’s pardon for his son Hunter to silently fade into obscurity, the recent clemency for numerous family members was a slap on their faces. Even the hypocritical and double-standard legacy media could no longer hide it.
Criticizing Trump for pardoning members of his first administration who were the subject of politically motivated prosecutions, Biden had said that he would not issue preemptive pardons.
“You’re not going to see in our administration that kind of approach to pardons,” Biden told CNN’s Jake Tapper. “Nor are you going to see in our administration the approach to making policy by tweets. You know, it’s going to be a totally different way in which we approach the justice system.”
Nonetheless, He turned around and negated his promise by pardoning his son after assuring the country that he would not intervene in the justice process.
In addition, he pardoned his political allies and former administration officials, Liz Cheney, Gen. Mark Milley, Anthony Fauci, and other January 6 panellists.
To top it off, he preemptively pardoned five of his family members, who most Americans have no clue about.
“Well, as it turns out, Anderson, there is another promise broken,” said CNN’s MJ Lee.
“That is exactly how he has ultimately decided to approach the justice system. This is a decision that is going to raise so many alarming questions about the legal precedence that this now sets. And it would have been really one of the very final acts for President Biden as a sitting president.”
Another CNN journalist, John King, called out the president for unexpectedly handing down the pardons without having to answer to the American people.
“If you’re going to do it, have the courage to do it in the light of day and explain it to the American people,” King said.
“It’s a stain on his legacy to do it like this. We could have an argument about, is it necessary, has Donald Trump promised retribution? Yes he has, if you’re the President of the United States who said the curse of Donald Trump was that he didn’t respect democracy and didn’t respect norms, have the courage to look the American people in the eye and explain what you’re doing.”
Unlike Biden, who slipped the pardon letters a few minutes before leaving office, Trump had, for months, discussed his first administration’s clemencies and answered journalists’ questions.
Another CNN host, David Axelrod, said the way he slipped the clemency letters suggested something was wrong with the pardons.
“That doesn‘t explain why, in the last 10 minutes of your presidency you slip a release out there, it just made the whole thing look tawdry,” he said.
Meanwhile, Biden said the pardons were not an acknowledgement of wrongdoing. However, some of the previous clemency recipients were accused of serious crimes.
For example, former joint chief of staff Milley was briefing China during the January 6 protests, an act that Trump said was “so egregious that, in times gone by, the punishment would have been death”.
The Big Guy was the product/service that was being sold by Hunter and all the other members of the Biden crime family. The laptop, the FBI documents, the IRS documents, the bank records, the LLCs, SAR reports, the WhatsApp text message, the sworn testimony by multiple whistle blowers, canceled checks and the FD-1023 document all show criminal activity of bribery, pay-to-play and influence pedaling.
The entire extended family, 17 people including the grandchildren, were all acting or being uses as bagmen to move and funnel money around to insulate Joe. This pardon of Hunter is to be used to cover for all the other members of the crime family including Joe Biden. That was the reason for the pardon had to go back to the time before Joe was sworn in as VP.
