Suspect in UnitedHealth CEO Shooting Was “Frustrated With Healthcare System”
A suspect in the assassination of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson has been apprehended in Pennsylvania, CBS News has reported.
Luigi Mangione, 26, was spotted by diners at a McDonalds in Altoona, Pennsylvania and taken into custody by police.
CBS News reports that he was in possession of a 3D-printed 9mm handgun and ammunition at the time of his arrest.
He also gave police a fake New Jersey ID when questioned. When they asked him why he would do that, he responded,
“I clearly shouldn’t have.”
According to Altoona Police Officer Tyler Frye, “We didn’t think twice about it, we knew it was our guy.”
According to ABC:
Mangione “appeared to view the targeted killing … as a symbolic takedown and a direct challenge to its alleged corruption and ‘power games,'” the assessment said, according to a source. Mangione allegedly described himself as the “first to face” United Healthcare “with such brutal honesty.”
Mangione had several handwritten pages on him that expressed a “disdain for corporate America” and indicated “he’s frustrated with the health care system in the United States,” NYPD Chief of Detective Joe Kenny told ABC News’ “Good Morning America” on Tuesday.
Altoona is about 300 miles from midtown Manhattan, the location of the shooting.
Mangione was arrested five days after the shooting took place.
Many in the mainstream media have falsely compared the assassination of Brian Thompson to the acquittal of Daniel Penny.
They can’t seem to figure out who are the good guys and who are the bad guys.
Liberal reaction to Mangione’s arrest has been to focus on his looks rather than the horrendous act he allegedly carried out.
