Trump Inauguration: Key Moments

Donald John Trump was sworn in as the 47th President at 12:01 pm in Washington D.C. today.

While the inaugural ceremony proceeded as expected, the fireworks were reserved for Trump’s inaugural speech.

Before we get to his speech, there were just a few moments of note during the ceremony.

While there are inevitably snags that come up in any large event, one noticeable moment during the inauguration was that Chief Justice John Roberts seemed to “rush” Trump to begin his swearing in.

You can see in the video that Trump’s family, including Melania with the bible, are not in position when Chief Justice Roberts begins the oath.

While noticeable, this was a minor glitch and did not take away from the gravity of the moment.

After the swearing in ceremony, singer Carrie Underwood was supposed to sing a music-accompanied rendition of “America the Beautiful”.

There seemed to be a technical difficulty with the audio, and everyone stood around for a few moments smiling awkwardly.

Carrie saved the moment, however, by delivering an amazing acapella rendition of the song.

And now, on to Trump’s inauguration speech.

In his opening line, Trump said “we are approaching the dawn of America’s Golden Age.”

The first ten minutes of his historic speech seemed more like a roast of Biden and Harris.

From the very beginning, Trump blasted every one of the failed policies of his predecessors…right in front of them.

After the roast of Biden and Harris was complete, Trump moved on to how he intends to fix the problems they created.

Trump received his first of many standing ovations when he announced he will declare a national emergency at the southern border.

He also made a clear statement about gender identity nonsense when he stated unequivocally “there are only two genders, male and female.”

Fox News said that this inauguration speech was twice as long as his 2017 speech.

He hit on far too many subjects to list here, but it’s safe to say that he addressed just about every single failure of the Biden-Harris Administration.

One last iconic moment from Trump’s speech came when he was discussing how to bring down inflation and energy costs.

Trump announces that we are going to “Drill, baby, drill” in order to unleash America’s energy producing potential.

Trump’s inauguration speech was, in my opinion, the best of his political career and will go down as one of the most positive and ambitious inauguration speeches in history.
