Undefeated boxing champion and successful businessman Floyd Mayweather didn’t pull any punches when he expressed his admiration for President Trump.
Mayweather Jr. retired with a clean record of 50 wins and no losses with 27 knockouts. He also won 15 major world championships across five weight categories. The 49-year-old also owns a real estate company valued at over $400 million and a premium nutritional supplements company 101 (One of One).
The legendary professional boxer and promoter appeared on Fox Business’s “Making Money” with Charles Payne to discuss various business topics.
“I wanted to ask you, as a budding Manhattan real estate mogul, about another Manhattan real estate mogul—a guy named Donald Trump. What do you think about the way he’s going at it?” Payne asked.
The legendary boxer did not mince his words when praising Trump. Mayweather Jr., who attended Trump’s first inauguration after he won the 2016 elections criticized the skeptical nature of most Americans who did not appreciate Trump’s first presidency.
“Well, the world—I mean, in America, we’re never happy. At least I’m happy, but we’re never happy. When we had Trump before, we didn’t appreciate him.
“But I think Trump is a great president. Actually, he’s the best president. In my eyes, he’s the best president we ever had. He’s just a great businessman, and that’s what it’s about,” he continued.
Acknowledging that Trump’s effort to reform the country will undoubtedly upset many, Mayweather noted that Americans will always complain regardless of who occupies the White House. However, Mayweather Jr. thinks that Trump stands out from other former presidents.
“Trump has done an amazing job, and a lot of people around America are upset. But no matter who goes in the White House, we’re always upset. I think Trump is the man for the job. He’s the best president in my eyes.”
Mayweather Jr.’s statements will undoubtedly enrage Leftists who likely expected him to tow a certain political ideology based on his race. However, the successful sportsman and businessman has a keen eye for excellence.
Meanwhile, Mayweather Jr. joins a rapidly growing list of athletes, celebrities, and business executives who have chosen the right side of history by supporting Trump’s effort to save the country.
In 2017, Mayweather Jr. defended Trump after the controversial “Access Hollywood” tape remarks leaked and the Left attempted to capitalize on them to demonize the president. Characterizing the remarks as “locker room talk,” Mayweather Jr. said Trump “spoke like a real man.”
However, some female athletes slammed Trump over the more than a decade-old remarks that were taken out of context. Nonetheless, the president has done more for women’s sports than the entire politically correct Left that threatened to wipe out biological women from sports by allowing men to compete against them.
Immediately after his inauguration, he signed the “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” executive order prohibiting men from competing against women.
While Mayweather Jr. has not commented on the transgender athletes in women’s sports controversy, some have used him as an example to support a ban.
“Imagine if Dennis Rodman, who likes to dress as a woman, announced that he’s transgendered and would compete in the Women’s National Basketball Association, or if Floyd Mayweather said he’s transgender and will now compete in women’s boxing,” Tom Horne, Arizona’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, asked.
