Unhinged Texas Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett has continued to make off-the-rail remarks about illegal immigration. This time, she blames the increased cost of groceries on “failed immigration policies.” She also blames the unaffordable cost of housing on the broken immigration laws.
“The reason you can’t afford a home is because of these failed immigration policies. The reason you’re not going to be able to afford your food is because of these failed immigration policies,” she ranted.
“And the same can go for the hospitality industries where we have so many of those in the hospitality industry who are saying that they do not have the workers that they need right now.”
For the record, we had a broken immigration policy under the Biden administration that opted not to enforce our immigration laws.
All we have now are activist liberal judges such as James Boasberg attempting to derail Trump’s anti-illegal immigration policy by preventing him from exercising his authority to enforce immigration laws.
Within the first month in office, Trump has demonstrated that our immigration policy was effective by reducing illegal immigration to a 25-year low, according to CBS. As Trump and other republicans have frequently stated, we did not need new immigration laws; “it turned out that all we really needed was a new president.”
“We don’t need new laws — we just need a president who enforces the laws we already have,” said former South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, now DHS Secretary.
As for the anticipated increase in grocery prices due to the deportation of illegal immigrants, there is no evidence that this would be the case.
During her confirmation hearing, Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins said the impact of mass deportation on agriculture was “hypothetical.” Similarly, the number of illegal immigrants working in agriculture remains unknown.
“We don’t know, first of all, who ‘they’ are,” Rollins said. “We all throw numbers around. 40%, 50%, 60%. The answer is we just don’t know.”
Additionally, other ways exist to address the farm labor shortage caused by mass deportations, such as visas for Temporary Agricultural Workers (H-2A).
Therefore, the anticipated shortage is no justification for allowing everybody, including gang members and terrorists, to enter the country, hoping that they would work in agriculture. Interestingly, Democrats argue that the H-2A program has been abused in the past, as if illegal immigration is any better.
Similarly, the hospitality industry would heavily benefit from an expanded temporary visa program for Temporary Non-Agricultural Workers (H-2B). Over the years, other sectors, such as technology and engineering, have operated smoothly with temporary visas for skilled workers (H-1B).
Additionally, deporting illegal immigrants could allow more Americans to take those jobs.
“Mass deportation will be a labor-market disruption celebrated by American workers,” Stephen Miller, now White House Deputy Chief of Staff, said in 2023.
Other Trump policies, such as increased domestic energy production and deregulation, will also reduce the costs of food production, allowing farmers to hire more Americans at fair wages. Trump has already reduced core inflation to a four-year low, and gas and egg prices are falling.
Besides, the prices of all basic commodities, including groceries, increased under the Biden administration despite opening the floodgates of illegal immigration.
Nonetheless, Democrats will keep regurgitating the same old talking points to stoke fear among Americans and distract them from Trump’s achievements. However, they only manage to ruin their credibility, as Crockett has repeatedly done.
“Their new star. Crockett. How about her? Are they serious about that? That’s their new star?” Trump asked.
“If that’s their new star, they’re in serious trouble. This is Crockett. Oh, man.”
Some unhinged Democrats have even found a way to inject racism into the conversation by claiming that we need illegal immigrants for cheap farm labor because Black people are done working in the fields.
“Those immigrants that come into our country, they work the fields, something that we ain’t done in a long time,” Crockett said earlier. “And clearly, he is trying to make us go back to the fields.”
“It puts us back to when America was ‘great,’ and we were picking cotton and doing the productivity that they’re putting my Latino brothers and sisters who migrate here to do that work because we are not suited intellectually to do it anymore,” said race-baiting Georgia Democrat Rep. Hank Johnson.
The only reason Democrats support illegal immigration is because it benefits them politically by bringing in potential illegal Democratic voters and helps them in redistricting.
Recently, Elon Musk and several GOP states found illegal immigrants in voter rolls, with some having voted in the 2024 elections.
