Cheney Endorses Harris for President
Former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., made headlines this week by endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for president during an appearance at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy. The announcement came as Cheney emphasized the existential threat posed by Donald Trump and stated that she would be casting her vote for Harris.
Cheney urged voters, particularly in swing states, not to write in candidates’ names, underlining the importance of their votes in this critical election.
Following the endorsement, Harris campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon praised Cheney, describing her as “a patriot who loves this country and puts our democracy and our Constitution first.”
The Harris campaign has actively sought to attract Republican support, reflecting a bipartisan approach in bolstering its voter base. The endorsement from Cheney, a prominent critic of Trump, is seen as a strategic move amidst the political machinations leading up to the 2024 election.
Vance’s Critique at Turning Point Action Event
Sen. J.D. Vance delivered a forceful critique against Cheney during a Turning Point Action event, where he reaffirmed (obviously) his support for Trump. Vance accused both Cheney and Harris of exploiting their political positions for financial gain while disregarding the well-being of American soldiers. He argued that Cheney’s career has been centered on sending others to fight in wars, while she “get[s] rich” from America’s military endeavors.
“A very good thing that I could say about the next presidency of Donald J. Trump is that he’s going to make sure people like Liz Cheney are laughed out of the Oval Office instead of rewarded,” Vance told moderator Charlie Kirk.
Despite being ousted in a Republican primary by a Trump-backed challenger in 2022, Cheney has remained vocal against Trump, describing him as an existential threat to U.S. democracy.
“Because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only am I not voting for Donald Trump, but I will be voting for Kamala Harris,” Cheney said.
The Harris campaign has garnered endorsements from over two dozen Republicans opposed to Trump, including former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, who also served on the January 6 commission with Cheney. Many of those endorsements, however, come from Republicans who were already vocally opposed to Trump and have next to no influence over the GOP and its voters.
Didn’t Dick-in-Drag endorse herself in her last race? How well this that go?
Who gives a shiite. She’s from Wyoming and that state doesn’t vote blue.
Why do Rinos like Cheney and Kinzinger even remain in the Republican party at this point… The party has effectively ousted them already and all they do is bash the candidate the people have chosen…. mostly due to their participation on the goofy insurrection committee…. Remember how Pelosi removed strong Republicans from the committee and put on these two goofballs! What does “an existential threat/danger to democracy” even mean? Sounds vaporous to me… how about some specifics?
Everybody outside of Wyoming: “Liz who?”
Liz Cheney is bought and paid for by her daddy’s ties to the war machine. She’ll say and do anything to keep the bucks coming in.
