Voter ID Laws Look Like The Next Big Target To Infiltrate, Destabilize America’s Elections

Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) leader and technology billionaire Elon Musk gave a blunt statement on voter ID laws Monday (March 10) via his social media platform X.

“Voter ID is fundamental to the integrity of democracy,” Musk said in the statement shared on X, which came in response to a politically-charged graphic from another user. The graphic accused Democrats of requiring a form of government ID to do things like travel, buy alcohol, drive, fish and hunt, drop your children at daycare, enter a hospital, and more, but do not require people to provide ID when voting.

The Push For Voter Identification

Voter ID is essential to ensuring the protection of our democracy. And this is far from the first time Musk has made such a statement. In September 2024, Musk shared a graphic revealing all the countries that require voter ID.

Less than a month later, Musk followed-up with a post focused on California. “Wow, it is now illegal to require voter ID in California!” he wrote in an X post, against replying to another user.

The other user shared a story regarding California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, who signed a bill into law in 2024 that barred local governments from enacting laws requiring residents to show valid identification in order to vote, according to Democracy Docket. In March, residents in Huntington Beach voted to adopt a ballot measurement requiring valid ID to vote in municipal elections. Following the passage of Newsom’s anti-voter ID bill, California’s Democratic Attorney General Rob Bonta and Secretary of State Shirley Weber sued Huntington Beach in order to block the democratically-enacted pro-voter ID law from being enforced.

The Battle Ahead …

In early 2025, Musk seemed to accuse British Prime Minister Keir Starmer of attempting to commit “voting fraud” after his party started attempting to drop voter ID laws in the United Kingdom.

“Keir Starmer’s Labour are dropping voter ID laws (meaning your parcel at the Post Office is more secure than your vote), giving millions of foreigners the right to vote and allowing children to vote too. Make no mistake, this is a blatant attempt to keep them in power. Chilling!” wrote independent journalist Darren Grimes on X.

Are you comfortable with your local and state officials removing your right to decide whether illegal immigrants and non-citizens are able to manipulate the future of American democracy?

As our allies push to allow non-citizens the right to vote in their elections, we must fight harder than ever to ensure the protection of our vote back home.

  1. Voter photo ID is quite simple for any ‘legal’ voter to get. We really need this to help clean up the deep swamp and have fair elections. Also, voter rolls must be cleaned up before the next election.
