WH Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Slams Media’s Meltdowns Over Potential Trump’s Third Term

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has slammed the media for creating a storm out of a teacup over President Trump potentially running for a third term. Leavitt reminded journalists that President Trump has already addressed the issue.

However, they kept badgering the Press Secretary and the President, hoping for a gotcha moment to declare Trump a threat to democracy. Ronald Reagan, who some have compared to Trump, was the first American president to ponder seeking re-election for the third term.

One reporter even asked Trump if the rumors were true that he was not planning to leave office on January 20, 2029.

“I’m not looking at that, but I tell you, I have had more people ask me to have a third term, which in a way is a fourth term, because the other election, the 2020 election, was totally rigged,” he responded.

White House Press secretary was also confronted with questions regarding Trump’s alleged intention to seek a third term. She clarified that the President has categorically stated that “it’s not really something we’re thinking about.”  However, she called out the hypocritical leftist media for droning over the issue and having a meltdown when Trump answers.

“You guys continue to ask the president this question about a third term, and then he answers honestly and candidly with a smile, and then everybody here melts down about his answer,” she said.

Meanwhile, Trump continued to troll the media, which seemingly is obsessed with the possibility of him seeking re-election after completing his non-consecutive second term.

When NBC News challenged Trump over the possibility of him running again, the president said that many in his camp have considered that possibility.

“A lot of people want me to do it,” Trump told NBC News’ Meet the Press host Kristen Welker. “But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration.”

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) had suggested amending the constitution to allow Trump to seek a third term in office. Conservative figure Steve Bannon also believes that Trump will run and win in 2028.

“I think he is going to run again in 2028 and I think he is going to win,” Bannon said. “I think we’ll have a couple of alternatives.”

However, President Trump said it was too early to consider seeking a third re-election, adding that he was “focused on the current.” He also sent mixed signals that he was unlikely to pursue the option, but he did not give it away easily to the leftist media house.

“But I’m not — it is far too early to think about it,” he reiterated.

However, the news outlet dug further to determine if the president had strategies in place to pursue a third term in the White House. Interestingly, Trump suggested that he could seek re-election in various ways.

“There are methods which you could do it,” the president stated.

NBC News suggested that Vice President JD Vance could run for president with Trump as his running mate and then step down, allowing him to take over. Surprisingly, Trump went with the flow by saying, “that’s one” and “But there are others, too.” However, he refused to explain when asked to give details.

Other ways that the president could seek re-election for the third time include initiating a constitutional amendment to rescind the 22nd Amendment. However, initiating a constitutional amendment is an arduous task as it requires a two-thirds majority in Congress and two-thirds of the states agreeing to hold a constitutional convention. Similarly, three-quarters of all states must accept to ratify the constitutional change, making it almost impossible.
