Recently fired “Reidout” host Joy Reid left MSNBC viewers with a stark warning about the return of fascism and called for persistent resistance.
“We begin tonight with what I think is the question; when you are in the midst of a crisis and specifically a crisis of democracy: How do you resist– when fascism isn’t just coming, It’s already here? So, what, if anything, can you do about it?” Reid began her show on Monday.
Reid recommended learning from countries, including the United States, that have already experienced fascism. I do not remember any time in history when the United States was under fascism.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans died in the 19th century confronting fascism across the world. Again, Leftists are altering history to fit their political agenda, the reason why critical race theory should be banned from schools.
“For one thing, you can try to learn from history, from what people in this situation, in countries around the world and in America have done before. As my friend Rachel Maddow always says, history is here to help.”
Nonetheless, the recently released mainstream journalist suggested persistent resistance and not obeying in advance as detailed by anti-Trump historian Tim Snyder.
“The first rule is to fight back, to never stop resisting. Do not obey in advance, as Tim Snyder put it… Even if it’s scary or uncomfortable or inconvenient, just keep saying no. Or finding creative ways to say no in small ways and large,” she later said.
Seemingly, Reid advises Americans to fight Trump’s America First agenda in support of violent criminal illegal aliens that this administration is deporting and foreign nations that take advantage of their country. Denver, Colorado Mayor Mike Johnston was even willing to go to jail to defend illegal immigrants at the expense of American legal and law-abiding citizens.
Fortunately, Americans are not that naive and overwhelmingly support Trump’s agenda, according to a recent Harvard CAPS-Harris poll. The poll found that 81% of Americans support deporting violent illegal aliens, a policy that the Leftists have opposed, and even called Americans to go onto the streets to fight it.
Similarly, more than three-quarters (76%) of Americans support curbing government waste and fraud, which Musk’s DOGE has been doing to the ire of Leftists. Some, like Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), who has been summoned by the DOJ over potentially inflammatory statements, have recommended bringing “actual weapons” to this “actual war” against DOGE.
Another 76% support securing borders against illegal immigration, while 69% support keeping men out of women’s sports, 68% support only two genders, 65% support ending race-based (DEI) hiring, and 63% support ending or freezing foreign aid until it can be accounted for.
Another 61% support reciprocal tariffs against countries that have exploited the United States, 60% support direct negotiations with Russia to end the Ukraine War, 59% support cutting government expenditure, and 57% support “drill baby drill” by ending a ban on offshore drilling.
It remains unclear what policies Reid wants Americans to oppose when they support most Trump policies. Seemingly, Reid and other Leftists are yet to come to terms with what American voters want and made their voices herd by electing Trump. During the Feb 2025 CPAC meeting, Vice President JD Vance noted that Americans gave Trump an overwhelming mandate to save the country.
“Trump knows that the American people have given us a chance to save the country, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do,” he said.
Meanwhile, Reid has yet to come to terms with her termination on MSNBC. Speaking to the “Win With Black Women” group, she acknowledged being unable to accept her termination, the same way Democrats are yet to come to terms with their presidential election loss.
Holding tears, Reid said she has gone through “every emotion” from “anger, rage, disappointment, hurt” to “gratitude.” She also said she had value and would not apologize for taking a “hard” stance, which translates to an unpopular radical left position on various issues, including Black Lives Matter, illegal immigration, the 1619 Project, and Gaza.
Various polls have already highlighted American voters’ position on these issues but Leftists still want to ram their position on the American people.
