The Oregon House of Representatives hosted an embarrassing spectacle by exhibiting a drag queen performance on the legislative floor. The House was commemorating the passing of the “Black drag” resolution, which honors Balck drag queens, while legislative priorities take a back burner. Many Democrats were very impressed by the depraved spectacle, which lowers the dignity of the House, a place intended to make relevant laws rather than holding ridiculous sideshows.
“Whereas Oregon has a rich tradition of building, supporting and celebrating LGBTQ communities, and the Black drag community in Portland is among the most vibrant and storied in the entire United States,” the depraved bill stated.
“That we … recognize and honor Oregon’s rich history of Black drag, and we congratulate all those whose spirited contributions have made Oregon’s Black drag community one of the most vibrant and vital in the nation.”
The drag queens who performed during the event, Isaiah Esquire and Aqua Flora Portland, were reportedly invited by State Rep. Travis Nelson. The resolution passed after a 34 – 9 vote, highlighting the depravity of the state House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, Republican state Representative Dwayne Yunker described the depravity as a blatant waste of taxpayers’ money.
“Tomorrow at 11 a.m., when the House convenes, two drag queens will be performing a lip-sync in honor of a Democratic House resolution recognizing Black drag queens in Oregon. This is outrageous and a complete waste of taxpayer money.”
It remains to be seen how passing a Black drag queen resolution helps marginalized minority kids in the inner cities. Nonetheless, Oregon is hardly the first blue state to prioritize drag queens over vulnerable children.
Recently, Arizona Democrats have held similar drag queen shows to encourage the medical and surgical transition of underage children. Trans activists invited teens between 13 and 18 to the LGBTQ+ Youth Day in support of legislation that supports queer youths. Dozens of adolescents responded to the call and attended the event.
“Arizona Democrat lawmakers teamed up with Planned Parenthood to host ‘Drag Story Hour’ at the Capitol to encourage parents to transition their kids. This is ahead of LGBTQ+ YOUTH Day at the Capitol tomorrow,” Arizona Senate Republicans raised alarm.
“Your taxpayer dollars are hard at work to push child indoctrination and woke ideology onto our citizens. The madness must stop.”
Recently, the U.S. Supreme Court voted in favor of Tennessee’s state ban on chemical and surgical mutilation of underage children, setting a precedent for over 20 states with similar laws.
Meanwhile, Oregon struggles with homelessness, while the House passes laws to celebrate Black drag queens. The state ranks first in the number of homeless families with children. Around the Portland region, over 55,000 households are considered “housing insecure.” In 17 years, the state has experienced a 91% increase in homelessness, the second highest in the nation.
Besides homelessness, other real and urgent priorities require no urgent attention, according to Oregon Democrats.
