MSNBC host Joy Reid has claimed that Democratic voters want to give former President Donald Trump a “knuckle sandwich” despite some of their bogus rhetoric to the contrary.
Reid told a network panel that the Democratic base really want someone to engage in a “fistfight” with Trump.
“Democrats want to see someone get up there and give a knuckle sandwich to Donald Trump,” Reid said.
Reid admitted that Tim Walz‘s debate performance was tailored to a “small, narrow group” of swing voters who want “more substance” from candidates.
“Tim Walz was very detailed and he spoke the way a governor speaks about really specific issues like gun violence, like health care,” she said.
“He was substantive and knowledgeable, so if you are that person who the thing that is keeping you on the fence is you need more details, he gave you more details,” the MSNBC host said.
“No. 2, I don’t think that small, narrow group of people wanted to see a fist fight. And so, I think that the people who want the fist fight are the base of the Democratic Party.”
