President Trump Gained Support Across Nearly ALL Demographics to Clinch the Presidency
President-Elect Trump broke his 2020 record by gaining ground across nearly all demographics, despite Democrats trying to incite various groups against him.
His greatest gains were in predominantly Democratic-voting blocks, where Trump gained 10% among young voters, 7% among African Americans, and 6% among Hispanic voters.
“Garbage” joke backfires as President Trump gains among Hispanic voters
Notably, Democrats attempted to capitalize on the ill-timed “garbage” joke by comedian Tony Hinchclifee at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally, to dissuade Hispanic voters from electing Trump.
The Blue Party strived to associate President Trump with the contentious remarks despite his campaign distancing itself from the statements. They also conveniently overlooked disparaging remarks comedian George Lopez made about Mexicans during a Harris campaign rally.
“I want every Puerto Rican in Philadelphia and Reading and across the country to see this clip,” said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
Nonetheless, President Trump campaigned intensely in Reading, Pennsylvania, which hosts nearly 70% of Puerto Rican immigrants in the United States to contain the damage.
Harris also tried to capitalize on the incident by campaigning in Reading to gain an upper hand against President Trump among Puerto Ricans.
Yet, according to a CNN exit poll, 53% of Latinos voted for the Democratic Party candidate in 2024, compared to about 60% in 2020.
Most Hispanic voters were concerned about the economy and believed that President Trump was better equipped to fix it than Harris could.
“I will deliver the best future for Puerto Ricans and Hispanic Americans. Kamala will deliver you poverty and crime,” Trump said in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Trump gains among Black/African American voters.
While Black voters predominantly elected Harris, Trump made modest gains across the African American community.
Trump’s improved polling was driven by more Black males electing him in 2024 than in 2020, thus increasing his overall popularity among African Americans.
Trump also performed better in the predominantly Black cities of Philadelphia, Milwaukee, and Detroit, than in 2020. The economy was a major concern for Black voters who believed that Trump could fix it.
Trump gains among young voters.
While more than half (55%) of voters under 30 elected Harris, Trump made significant gains among young voters.
In 2024, more than 4 in 10 young voters elected Trump, compared to about 1 in 3 in 2020. The economy was among the top concerns for young voters who believe Trump could turn it around.
Other demographics in which Trump recorded modest but important gains were non-college-educated voters (+6%), men (+6%), and women (+2%).
The economy was a major concern for Hispanic, Black/African American, and young voters. They all believe Trump’s economic policies are better than Kamala’s.
Unsurprisingly, voters across all demographics whose economic situation was “not so good” or “poor” overwhelmingly voted for Trump (52% and 86%). Similarly, Black and Hispanic males also preferred Trump more than their female counterparts.
The small gains that Trump recorded among various demographics collectively allowed the former President to win the 2024 Presidential Election.
And where did Harris gain? In the words of a stunned Jake Tapper last night: literally nothing.
