Former Vice President and Democratic Party’s failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris is strongly considering tossing herself into the California gubernatorial race. Quoting undisclosed sources, The Hill reported that the race has given Kamala a “renewed sense of excitement,” putting a “glimmer in her eyes.”
“She has a lot of people in her ear telling her that it makes the most sense and she can do the most good,” the source reveals. However, the outlet cautioned that Kamala has not “made a final decision yet and is still considering all her options.” Nonetheless, the former Vice President “says she has made it clear that she is not done with public service and is giving the race strong consideration.”
Sources said Kamala is observing a “self-imposed end-of-summer deadline” to decide on whether to join the “crowded” gubernatorial race, which includes Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and California Attorney General Xavier Becerra.
Lieutenant Governor of California Eleni Kounalakis has also expressed her interest in the gubernatorial seat, but will step down if Kamala decides to run. Former Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA-47) will also run unless Kamala does.
Former Speaker of the California State Assembly Toni Atkins has also declared her interest. Gov. Gavin Newsom is leaving the seat after serving the maximum of two terms, making him ineligible for re-election. He has his sights on running for U.S. president in 2028, and he is considered to be the Democratic Party’s frontrunner.
Kamala is the currently most preferred candidate, with over half (57%) of California Democrats supporting her, according to an Emerson College Polling/Inside California Politics/The Hill poll.
Most Democrats (68%), Republicans (61%), and independents (54%) are more concerned about inadequate investment in firefighting, with 50% believing the fires could have been prevented. However, over two-thirds (70%) believe that climate change caused the fires, and 52% disapprove of Trump’s orders to reopen Central California dams in response to the fires.
Over half of poll respondents (54%) oppose the deportation of illegal immigrants. Kamala is among the radical left Democrats who have sided with anti-ICE protests, which she described as “overwhelmingly peaceful.” She also claimed that Trump’s deployment of the National Guard was a “dangerous escalation.”
“Deploying the National Guard is a dangerous escalation meant to provoke chaos,” she tweeted. “In addition to the recent ICE raids in Southern California and across our nation, it is part of the Trump Administration’s cruel, calculated agenda to spread panic and division.”
According to her, anti-ICE protests, many of which turned into violent riots and looting of businesses, were a “powerful tool” in the “fight for justice.” “I continue to support the millions of Americans who are standing up to protect our most fundamental rights and freedoms,” she said.
Ironically, the people being deported are not American. Similarly, law-abiding U.S. citizens, whose businesses are being ravaged, have no recourse to the same justice that Kamala and other radical leftists are advocating for illegal aliens.
A recent UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies poll found that Californians want the ballots in more languages, other than English, raising questions about the national background of many of these voters.

If Republicans were smart (and they are not) all they would have to do to win is play scenes of downtown LA.
