A recently resurfaced street interview by Ami Horowitz on “black vote suppression” through mandatory voter ID laws disproved the theory and demonstrated how white liberals look down on the African American community. Democrats have consistently insisted that voter ID laws disproportionately affect minorities, thus preventing them from actively participating in elections.
Numerous white liberals interviewed by Horowitz in Berkeley, California, tried to explain how voter ID laws negatively affect black people only to reveal how ignorant, racist, and stereotypical they were toward African Americans. While they all agreed that voter ID laws were racist, they all descended into racist rants, demeaning black voters when asked to explain.
“Do you think they [voter ID laws] suppress the African American vote?” Horowitz asked one of the respondents.
Some of the reasons given include that African Americans “are less likely to have state IDs” or “types of identification required.” Another white liberal respondent said that black people “do not live in areas with access to DMVs or other places they can get identification.”
When reminded that Americans can get their IDs online, the white liberals said that black people either could not afford to pay the internet or did not know how to use it.
“You have to have access to the internet, you have to be able to pay the internet service provider for certain fees,” explained one of the liberal male respondents.
“Well, they do not have the knowledge of how it works,” a young white female liberal said, while another explained that they do not have smartphones or data. The former continued to explain how most black people did “not know what was out there” and were uninformed.
Another white liberal explained that convicted felons are not allowed to vote in some states, such as Florida, adding, “That’s a huge population of African Americans,” suggesting that most black people have a criminal record.
Horowitz then visited East Harlem, New York, where he shared liberals’ perceptions of the Black community and asked them if they had IDs or knew people without identification documents.
“Why would they think we don’t have IDs?” One woman asked.
“That’s a lie, why would they say that?” another responded.
“I have my ID, and my friends have their IDs, we know what we need to carry around,” said a young black man.
“Everybody that I know have [an] ID, like that’s one of the things you need to walk around New York with.”
Others produced their IDs to prove they had them and gave directions to the nearest DMV when confronted with the allegation that they did not know how to get there. They also disputed the allegation that black people have no access to the internet or do not know how to use it.
“Everybody has access to the internet; even little kids can figure out how to use the internet,” the young black man said.
“I have internet access for years,” a black woman said, adding that her kids had smart devices, while another black female respondent said she had unlimited data and used her phone as an internet hotspot.
When asked to comment on the liberals’ claims, they described them as “ignorant” and racist for stereotyping the whole black community.
“I think it is a little racist because you’re putting people in a category and you have no idea what you are talking about,” a black woman explained.
“Maybe a little bit racist … but more of stupidity and ignorant,” a black man said.
Lastly, every black respondent confirmed they had no issue presenting their ID to vote, debunking the liberal myth entirely. Once again, liberals exploit the black community to push their unpopular agenda.
According to a February 2024 Pew Research Center survey, 81% of Americans, including 75% of black people, support voter ID laws mandating a government-issued identification document to cast a ballot.
“Across racial and ethnic groups, large majorities favor requiring paper ballot backups for electronic voting machines, photo ID requirements for voting and making Election Day a national holiday.” – Pew Research Center.
Similarly, an October 2024 Gallup poll found that 84% of Americans, including 80% of people of color, support mandatory photo ID for voting, while 83% support requiring proof of citizenship to register as a voter for the first time.
“[Most Americans] broadly support measures to limit fraud and ensure election integrity, including requiring photo identification to vote and providing proof of citizenship when first registering to vote.” – Gallup.
The Democrat tactic on alot of issues is to immediately claim their opponent is racist, then try to figure out a way to explain it. They’re not looking at issues and analyzing the pros and cons. They’re taking the side that benefits them politically and then making up things to justify it. Alot of times when they resort to the racism claim, it means they’re out of ideas and it’s the best thing they can think of. And it does work sometimes as Republicans often cave whenever someone calls them racist.
As a 34yr LEO; I was in the ID business. The only people I knew who said they didn’t have an ID were those that DID NOT want to be identified. Nearly all had warrants for their arrest.
In America, you cannot receive any health services, drive, get a library card, enter a Federal Building, cash a check, purchase alcohol, withdraw money from your bank: this list is much longer, w/o possessing an ID.
Voter Suppression? I’ve worked the polls. It is not happening. Blacks are too smart to be voter suppressed.
Except when you speak with the Schumer, Durban, Pelosi and Mad Maxine types.
While liberals, especially women, are the most racist people on the planet. They actually believe that without the help of white people, black people would die of starvation, in the street, being utterly incapable of taking care of themselves. Liberals are disgusting.
And the dems wonder why they are losing ‘The black vote’. Conservatives see an American who happens to be Black. Liberals see a down trodden hapless person they must help.
Except they don’t actually help them.
White liberals will believe anything democrats tell them. It’s a tactic that “Spin Dictatorships” use to control the public. One of many a Socialist entity uses in todays world.
