Democrats Fume as GOP Looks to Rename Kennedy Center Opera House After First Lady Melania Trump

Democrats are losing sleep over the GOP’s attempt to rename the Kennedy Center Opera House in honor of First Lady Melania Trump. The measure passed a Congressional Committee after a 33-25 vote, leaving Democrats scampering to react.

Melania has experienced extreme discrimination from the fashion and arts industry despite being the most appealing First Lady in recent history, all due to Trump’s political stance on issues of national importance.

Trump’s policies contributing to Melania’s exclusion include protecting the country’s borders, confronting the radical gender ideology (including the chemical and surgical mutilation of “trans” children), and prioritizing America in foreign policy decisions through his “America First” agenda.

Besides her unmatched appeal, Melania has championed children’s well-being and restored class to the White House as First Lady, efforts that have gone completely unappreciated by the radical left.

Subsequently, Trump and Melania didn’t attend the Kennedy Center Honors event during his first administration. However, Melania and the President recently attended an event at the center last month for the opening night of “Les Misérables”

According to far-left media outlet ABC News, the House Appropriations Committee voted to rename the Kennedy Center’s Opera House to “First Lady Melania Trump Opera House” in honor of Ms. Trump.

“An amendment changing the name of the 2,364-seat theater, the second largest in the arts complex, was approved along party lines by the House Appropriations Committee on Tuesday, and would become law if Congress approves the House GOP spending bill that funds the Interior Department, Environmental Protection Agency and other agencies.”

Democrats were predictably unimpressed by the name change and resorted to their usual propaganda tactics, accusing the Trump administration of spending six times the ordinary Kennedy Center’s budget to rename the Opera House. They also suggested that Trump might rename the entire center.

“The Republicans have now given the president six times the normal amount of money to run the Kennedy Center, carte blanche over who will be on the board, and how different parts of the Kennedy Center — perhaps the whole Kennedy Center itself — will be named, and this amendment confirms that,” claimed Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-Maine).

Nonetheless, the Kennedy Center will retain its original name in honor of late president John F. Kennedy. Similarly, other venues, such as the Concert Hall, Eisenhower Theater, and The REACH, will retain their original names.

While Republicans approved a $257 million budget to renovate the Kennedy Center, they also slashed its expenditures by 17% for the next year to $37 million. However, Democrats are unlikely to acknowledge these positive changes and focus instead on the First Lady finally receiving recognition she deserves.

In addition to renaming the Kennedy Center Opera House, President Trump fired the Biden-appointed board responsible for the radical left policies governing the center.

It currently remains unclear when Republicans will present the amendment to the floor for a vote in both chambers.

Why didn’t the Dems rename it after that guy who was on every other cover of Vanity Fair from 2008-2017?
