The attack on a White couple by a Black mob in Cincinnati, Ohio, that went viral has attracted the attention of the U.S. Department of Justice, the Civil Rights Division.
Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the DOJ, Harmeet Dhillon, issued a stern statement that the department will closely monitor the handling of the case by local authorities.
Dhillon was replying to a social media post by Senator Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio), when she asserted that civil rights apply to all Americans, and nobody should be subjected to such racially motivated crimes.
“Our federal hate crimes laws apply to ALL Americans. We @CivilRights will monitor closely how local authorities handle this attack. Nobody in our great nation should be the victim of such a crime, and where race is a motivation, federal law may apply.”
Sen. Moreno had lashed out at the Democratic Mayor of Cincinnati, Aftab Pureval, who hadn’t yet condemned or even acknowledged the attack.
“The Mayor of Cincinnati, [Aftab Pureval], who has an opinion on lots of irrelevant topics, has not issued a statement, let alone a condemnation, of this heinous attack,” Moreno said.
“Instead of dreaming about higher office, which will never happen, he should be ensuring his residents are safe.”
Vice President JD Vance’s half-brother, Cory Bowman, who will challenge Mayor Pureval in the November mayoral election, had shared the original video. Bowman, who initially did not want to join politics, will be the first Republican to run for the mayoral seat since 2009. He previously derided claims that crime was down, arguing that the statistics might have been doctored. He added that people living in the streets and downtown Cincinnati “know that that’s false.”
“If you have the gall to say that crime is down, that’s a slap in the face to the people downtown,” Bowman said. “The systems that we have in place might enable them to manipulate those statistics.”
According to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) data, Black people, who account for just 13% of the total population, account for a whopping 51% of murder arrests. In comparison, White (58.4%) people, including Hispanics (19.5%) of any race or nationality, account for just 45.7% of the murder arrests.
Besides the videos of Black mobs attacking the White couple, other X users shared recordings of African American mobs attacking people of Caucasian descent, including senior citizens.
Some leftists had a field day justifying the horrible attacks, claiming that the White man instigated the altercation and had it coming. Race-baiting activist Tariq Nasheed claimed that the White man had slapped a Black man, resulting in the gruesome assault.
“A group of white people were arguing with a group of Black people in Cincinnati…. And one of the white males decided to slap a Black man in the face. And things went downhill from there.”
Local police are investigating the incident and seeking to identify the individuals involved in the attack or know what transpired. Nevertheless, the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division is closely monitoring the incident to ensure it does not get lost and buried in the noise of social justice and political correctness.

Looks like most viewers didn’t pay much attention to the background activity in the video. There were 2 other White guys getting beat as well. Point being, it wasn’t just an attack on the couple. It was an attack on several Whites (all over 50) by a group of younger Blacks.
