GOP Rep: Deport New York City Democratic Mayoral Candidate Zohran Mamdani

GOP Rep. Andy Ogles (TN) has urged Attorney General Pam Bondi to revoke the citizenship of the New York City Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, claiming he harbors sympathies for convicted terrorists and likely obtained citizenship under false pretenses.

“Zohran ‘little muhammad’ Mamdani is an antisemitic, socialist, communist who will destroy the great City of New York,” Rep. Ogles tweeted.

“He needs to be DEPORTED. Which is why I am calling for him to be subject to denaturalization proceedings.”

Rep. Ogles claims that Mamdani has openly expressed solidarity with the Holy Land Foundation Five, a pro-Hamas group convicted of financially supporting the international terrorist group.

According to the Tennessee Congressman, the Ugandan-born has likely made willful misrepresentation or concealment by failing to disclose his alleged terrorist sympathies.

“Publicly praising the Foundation’s convicted leadership as “my guys” raises serious concerns about whether Mr. Mamdani held affiliations or sympathies he failed to disclose during the naturalization process.”

Rep. Ogles also highlighted Mamdani’s comment urging for the globalization of intifanda and his refusal to distance himself from the pro-terrorist rhetoric.

“Moreover, Mr. Mamdani has recently refused opportunities to reject the pro-terrorist rallying cry to “globalize the intifada” — a call to expand violent attacks on civilians to the United States and around the world.”

When challenged about his anti-Israeli sentiments shortly after his victory, Mamdani claimed he cannot change his political stance, suggesting that he still stands by his previous statements, including calls for the globalization of intifada.

Meanwhile, the Tennessee Republican Congressman noted that the naturalization process is based on good faith. Had the Muslim New York City Mayoral candidate disclosed his alleged anti-Western and anti-Semitic sentiments, his application would likely have been unsuccessful. Subsequently, Ogles suggested that the discovery of that information could be grounds for denaturalization.

“If Mr. Mamdani concealed relevant associations, that concealment may constitute a material misrepresentation sufficient to support denaturalization under federal law.”

Ogles urged the federal government to act to restore public trust in the naturalization process by investigating the NYC mayoral candidate and determine if he acquired citizenship under false pretense.

“The federal government must uphold public trust by ensuring that citizenship is not granted under false pretenses. I respectfully urge the Department of Justice to determine whether Mr. Mamdani’s conduct prior to naturalization warrants formal review under applicable law.”

Appearing on Benny Johnson’s show, Ogles noted that while New York City grapples with liberal policies, Mamdani’s victory was a shocking development. He also claimed that Mamdani joined a communist group while applying for U.S. citizenship.

“At the same time he’s filling out these forms to become a citizen, he’s joining a communist group here in the United States,” Ogles claimed.

Despite the left’s pro-Hamas sentiments, even disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo tried to appeal to the Jewish community, earning 8 to 1 the support of the Orthodox Jewish community compared to Mamdani.

Meanwhile, all may not be lost as current New York City Mayor Eric Adams is running as an Independent and could appeal to more moderate Democrats appalled by Mamdani’s victory in the party’s primaries. Mayor Adams is currently lobbying business leaders to stop Mamdani’s ascent to power, according to the New York Times.

“The business leaders were impressed that Mr. Adams was already staging a public fight against Mr. Mamdani, several people familiar with the meeting said,” the outlet reported.

Mamdani’s spokesman said the business leaders were afraid of his plan “to tax them a little bit more to fund an agenda to lower the cost of living and improve the quality of life for all New Yorkers.”

  1. Mr Ogles, please stop chasing headlines. You aren’t even a citizen of New York, much less New York City. It’s none of your business or concern who they elect. You have far more important work to do in Congress, so focus your attention and efforts there. If New Yorkers want to elect this communist-terrorist to Mayor, let them. If they elect him, the deserve what they get. Pull all Federal funding from the City of New York, pull all Federal Offices and Workers out, and let the city rot.
