New York City Democrats have officially taken a hard turn toward radicalism, tossing out three incumbent members of Congress and replacing them with socialist firebrands who proudly campaign to abolish ICE, erase prisons, and open the southern border.
Every one of them carries the endorsement of the Democratic Socialists of America and the blessing of far-left New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
To anyone watching closely, this was not a random political shakeup but a warning shot about where the Democratic Party is barreling full-speed ahead.
Greg Gutfeld captured the situation perfectly on Fox News’ The Five.
While most networks offered soft reactions about voter enthusiasm or demographic shifts, Gutfeld zeroed in on the actual crisis.
“The saddest reaction is that in that montage we heard Democrats more worried about the politics than the reality,” he said.
“You know, they’re worried, what will Republicans do with this? Instead of what could happen to America if this spreads?”
His point was brutal and right on target. Democrats care more about optics than outcomes, party prestige over national stability.
That, Gutfeld argued, is the rot at the core of modern liberalism.
Democrats are not asking whether socialism is dangerous for America.
They are asking whether socialism polls badly.
It is always about branding, never about consequences.
It is the same political disease that turns genuine concern for the country into an endless PR exercise.
Gutfeld went on to unpack why this cycle keeps repeating itself.
“We normies are burdened with this radical phenomenon like every 10, 15 years,” he said.
“Usually we have to wait it out until some of the younger people grow out of it when they see that their beliefs are tethered to failure.”
Unfortunately, as he noted, the pipeline never stops.
As one starry-eyed socialist wakes up and grows out of the fantasy, another one steps out of a college lecture hall and into Congress.
The reason, according to Gutfeld, is that the cultural machinery continues to churn out radicals nonstop.
“The left owns the soft power, which is the media, the schools, and the arts,” he said.
“So it’s like Doritos. You know, we crush them, they make more of them, and it’s because they just romance radicalism.”
The analogy was funny but also entirely accurate.
The left keeps packaging and selling its failed ideology with a fresh coat of marketing gloss.
Liberal institutions do not teach solutions; they teach resentment and utopian fantasies.
Gutfeld also highlighted something the mainstream crowd refuses to say aloud.
“It is really chilling how emboldened they are. They’re not hiding this behind helping the poor. They’re just saying, we want power. These are wolves in wolves clothing.”
That line hit like a punch.
The modern Democratic socialist movement is not disguising its intentions anymore.
They say the quiet part out loud because they believe the institutions have their back.
The establishment Democrats still think they can tame these radicals, a mistake that keeps backfiring.
“The Dems saw them as just other Democrats,” Gutfeld explained.
“They thought it was nonsense and it wouldn’t get anywhere. They’ll fall into line just like Bernie did, but they’re not.”
The party of Pelosi and Schumer is learning too late that the monster they fed is now running the show.
Gutfeld’s final point might be the most vital lesson of the night.
Too many Americans still treat this as an odd foreign fever or a fringe student movement.
It is not. “It’s not third world, it’s white elite intelligentsia, the 7%, who, as history has shown, they will call you fascist, but then when they get into power, oh, man, are they bloodthirsty,” he said.
“Because the whole point of this, it’s not to get power to help the country. They say they hate the country. It’s power to overturn the country and punish the people they hate.”
That is exactly the danger.
The American left no longer hides its contempt for the nation or for ordinary citizens.
It does not want to fix America.
It wants to dismantle it and rebuild it into something entirely different, something unrecognizable to the people who built it.
WATCH:
The three far-left victories in New York City are not isolated political upsets.
They are a snapshot of what is brewing inside the Democratic Party.
These candidates are not outliers; they are the logical product of an ideology that rewards grievance, demonizes success, and glorifies government control.
Democrats had their chance to distance themselves from the fringe.
Instead, they opened the door and handed them the keys.
The radicals are now behind the wheel, steering the entire party toward the cliff.
Gutfeld just had the honesty to point out what nearly every mainstream pundit refuses to admit.
Republicans watching this unfold would do well to note the lesson. The left is no longer fighting to persuade Americans.
They are fighting to transform America entirely.
And as Gutfeld reminded everyone, once they get power, they never give it back willingly.
That is not just a problem for New York City Democrats.
It is a problem for the entire country.
