Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) faced a disruptive incident during a town hall in Dallas on Thursday when conservative commentator Sara Gonzales of The Blaze confronted her mid-speech, leading to a chaotic scene and Gonzales’ removal from the venue.
The event, intended for constituent outreach, was interrupted when Gonzales stood and began shouting at Crockett.
The confrontation centered on Crockett’s political persona and public image.
“The people of Dallas deserve better than a fake ghetto hoodrat,” Gonzales yelled, prompting loud boos from the crowd.
She continued, “Do they know you’re a rich kid from Missouri? Do they know you’re a spoiled rich kid from Missouri?”
Attendees and security quickly moved to intervene.
Video from the event shows several individuals surrounding Gonzales before she was escorted out by security personnel.
In the background, voices can be heard shouting, “Get her *** out of here!”

Gonzales’ remarks referenced Crockett’s background, which includes attending one of the most expensive private schools in St. Louis before enrolling at Rhodes College, a private liberal arts institution in Memphis.

Critics have pointed to what they describe as a shift in Crockett’s public speaking style, noting her use of colloquial or “street” language in certain settings.
One example cited by opponents occurred in March, when Crockett used a derogatory nickname for Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who uses a wheelchair.
In that instance, she referred to Abbott as “governor hot wheels” during a public address.

The Dallas town hall disruption also touched on past political disputes in Texas.
Gonzales alluded to the 2021 redistricting controversy, when Democratic legislators left the state for approximately two weeks in an unsuccessful effort to block Republican-backed legislation.
Security confirmed that Gonzales was removed from the building without further incident, and no arrests were reported.
Crockett continued the event following the disruption, addressing other attendees and taking questions.
Crockett, who has been a vocal critic of Republican policies in Texas and nationally, has faced both strong support and sharp criticism for her outspoken approach.
The Dallas town hall marked her latest in-person meeting with constituents since Congress adjourned for its August recess.
Neither Crockett’s office nor The Blaze issued an immediate statement on the incident.
Video clips of the confrontation have circulated widely on social media, drawing commentary from both supporters and detractors of the congresswoman.
The exchange highlights ongoing tensions in Texas politics, where public events for elected officials have increasingly become flashpoints for protest and confrontation.
