Muslim Marxist NYC Mayoral Candidate Zohran Mamdani Insists White Residents Must Pay More Taxes

Communist Muslim Democratic New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani defended his plan to target “Whiter neighborhoods” with more taxes. Mamdani doubled down on the racist policy when he appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press interview. During the interview, Mamdani downplayed criticism that the policy was racist.

“We went on your website and realized there’s a policy proposal that says your plan, and I’m gonna quote it for folks, is to ‘shift the tax burden from over-taxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods,’” NBC’s Kristen Welker asked.

“That is just a description of what we see right now. It’s not driven by race. It’s more of an assessment of what neighborhoods are being under-taxed versus over-taxed,” he said. 

Justifying his plan to target people based on skin color, he claimed that the New York property tax system was unequal, and that the current Mayor Eric Adams had promised to review it, although he never followed through. He also downplayed concerns that targeting people based on race could alienate White voters.

“We’ve seen time and again that this is a property tax system that is inequitable. It’s one that actually Eric Adams ran on, saying that he would change in the first 100 days,” he said.

While lauding increased taxes on an already overtaxed state and city, Mamdani lamented the shrinking tax base, which he attributed to the increased cost of living. 

In 2025, New York ranked the worst in the whole country in terms of tax friendliness for businesses according to Statista’s 2025 Business Tax Climate Index and Tax Foundation’s 2025 State Tax Competitiveness Index. New York has the highest income tax rate among states, in addition to local taxes in New York City.

“We are talking about our tax base growing smaller and smaller each day,” Mamdani said. “If we do not meet this moment, we will lose the city.”

Ironically, increasing taxes will only exacerbate the problem and cause more people to flee from the liberal city. Mandani’s assessment comes hot on the heels of wealthy NYC property buyers considering pausing their deals and relocating to other states, with Florida being among the top preferred destinations.

During the same interview, Mamdani also claimed that he does not believe that billionaires should exist.

“You are a self-described Democratic Socialist. Do you think that Billionaires should exist?” NBC’s Kristen Welker asked.

“I don’t think that we should have billionaires because, frankly, it is so much money in a moment of such inequality. And ultimately, what we need more of is equality across our city and across our state and across our country,” he responded. “And I look forward to working with everyone, including billionaires, to make a city that is fairer for all of them.”

However, Mamdani admitted that increasing taxes in the Big Apple would require state approval. Nonetheless, the deep blue state was unlikely to oppose progressive measures by one of their most radical communist.

Meanwhile, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon, has threatened to investigate Mamdani over his remarks to tax people based on their skin color.

“Racial discrimination is illegal in the United States – period,” Dhillon said on Benny Johnson’s show. “Full stop! The illegal discriminatory scheme described by Mamdani would violate federal constitutional and statutory norms, and might even violate New York law.”

Nonetheless, some embarrassed lefties are trying to defend Mamdani’s plan to target White New Yorkers with more taxes.

One of the ABC’s “The View” guests, Omar Jimenez, claimed that Mamdani didn’t plan to target White people, to which Scott Jennings schooled him.

“He literally wrote it in a statement, Omar. He literally wrote it down!” Jennings insisted.
