Actor and comedian Michael Rapaport has renewed his demand that socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) be removed from office.
He is also openly weighing whether to run for mayor himself and challenge Mamdani in 2029.
Rapaport, known for his acting work and outspoken social media commentary,
delivered his latest attack in comments to Fox News.
He described Mamdani as a disaster for New York City and cast his possible candidacy as a direct response.
“Zohran the moron is the most divisive mayor in the history of this city by far,” he said.
Rapaport then added, “He’s a two-bit con man.”
He also leveled accusations of antisemitism, racism and homophobia at Mamdani’s wife.
Beyond the blistering criticism, Rapaport said he is “absolutely considering running for mayor” and facing Mamdani in 2029.
His latest comments continue a possibility he has raised before rather than introducing the idea for the first time.
Rapaport discussed a potential race last December, when he insisted that his political declarations were serious.
At the time, he presented a campaign against Mamdani as a course he intended to pursue over the following few years.
“I will be running for Mayor of New York in a few years,” he said on his podcast at the time.
The declaration came as Mamdani was preparing to take office as mayor.
Rapaport then framed his announcement as immediate action rather than a distant thought.
He said he was unwilling to remain on the sidelines while waiting to see what Mamdani would do at City Hall.
“I’m announcing this today, because in a couple of hours, Zohran the Moron will be stepping in as the Mayor of New York, and I’m not going to sit back and wait for what the f**k this bullsh*t artist, two-bit, con man is going to do. I am taking action,” he explained.
The actor continued by describing the blunt approach he said would define his candidacy.
His pitch centered on refusing to deceive voters or make promises he could not support.
“I won’t be lying. I won’t be smiling. I won’t be selling you all kind of wolf tickets and bullsh*t,” the Beautiful Girls actor proclaimed.
“That’s my speech. That is the platform I will be running on. My campaign will probably launch in the middle of 2028; 2029 will be mine.”
Those remarks supplied a potential timeline for Rapaport’s political plans.
Although he has not said that a campaign has formally begun, he identified the middle of 2028 as the likely launch period and claimed 2029 as his target.
His latest interview kept that prospect alive while again focusing his fury on Mamdani.
Rapaport’s comments combined personal attacks against the mayor with another public acknowledgment that he is considering becoming a candidate.
Rapaport has said his interest comes from his deep concern for New York City and his disgust with Mamdani’s actions.
His repeated declarations are intended to make clear that he does not view the possible campaign as a joke.
“I’m absolutely considering running for mayor. I’m not playing around about it. If I find out and realize that there’s somebody who is aligned with the thoughts of so many concerned New Yorkers that has a better chance of winning, I will support them,” Rapaport exclaimed.
“It’s not an ego-based decision. I am a New Yorker. I’m a concerned New Yorker, and Zohran the Moron must be removed from office by in 2025 during that election. And if I’m the person to do it, I’m the person to do it.”

For now, Rapaport remains publicly focused on removing Mamdani and contemplating a 2029 challenge.
His statements to Fox News and his earlier podcast announcement show that the actor continues to treat a mayoral campaign as a serious possibility.
