Former First Lady Michelle Obama’s new podcast has failed to garner any meaningful interest, as weak viewership and harsh words from critics have destined it for a total failure. The first episode, released on Wednesday, features her older brother, Craig Robinson, where they recalled their “diverse and changing neighborhood” and guidance from their late parents, Marian Shields Robinson and Fraser C. Robinson III.
However, the show is failing to connect with viewers. The show’s first three episodes failed to clear 20,000 views on YouTube—a disastrous start for a former first lady who even has big tech propping her up.
“This couldn’t be any less entertaining,” wrote one critic of the latest episode.
Another wondered if Obama planned to explain what happened to her family chef, who mysteriously died off the coast of their Nantucket home.
Johnson reacted, “What an utter failure. Who thought this was a good idea?”
Florida News reporter Eric Daugherty noted that the number of dislikes for Obama’s episodes had surpassed the number of likes.
Michelle Obama, who was once adored by the American public—well, most of them—appears to have lost any of her relevance. Since leaving the White House, Obama has remained relatively silent, only being dragged into participating in Biden’s 2020 campaign after top national Democrats warned her about the stakes of another Trump presidency.
Recently, Michelle Obama has remained strangely absent from her husband’s travels and even refused to attend Jimmy Carter’s funeral, where President Obama and President Donald Trump were seen chatting in a somewhat friendly manner. Amid rumors of an impending divorce, it looks like the Obamas, who were once viewed as America’s power couple, will end up in the bargain bin of politics.
