“People’s Sick Day” Attempts To Arrange Sneak Attack On Major Corporations, But Actually Hurts Working Americans

A currently unknown group is organizing something called “The People’s Sick Day” where people plan to skip work for at least three days in order to “prove how ‘essential’ they are” to their employers, and folks are already poking holes in the plan.

A post from the Right Angle News Network went semi-viral in early July, detailing a movement wherein able-bodied workers are planning to walk out of work for at least three days in a “sneak attack” approach to prove how “essential” they are to their employers. However, there are some rumors that the day has already come to pass, and literally no one noticed.

Similar videos have been shared on TikTok, so it is unclear whether this is actually a “grassroots” movement or something funded by yet another major faceless organization — or could actually be just another bot-war from one of America’s enemies.

The group currently has less than 2,500 members on Facebook, and at the time of writing, had no new members in the last week. It appears the group may want members to join the Discord server anonymously or the Facebook group in order to stay connected. According to the website, the plan is to “build momentum before corporations catch on,” as this is a “sneak attack” approach by the members to … do something? It is unclear.

The page also notes something about building more prisons than colleges, but offers zero context as to how this applies to the movement.

Potential Economic Impact

As we saw during the COVID-19 pandemic, where countless people were sent home and either could not work — or worked remotely — the overarching impact to the economy actually came from the overspending of stimulus checks, which sent our already fracturing economy into a recession (even if most of our political leaders refused to admit it).

The website says that “wages no longer meet the basic needs of our families, and together we say no more.” It appears the “no more” may mean “no more work,” as it is more than likely that those who take part in this campaign will probably be fired. This means they definitely won’t be able to feed their families.

The only way this movement will have any major impact on the economy is if quite literally tens, if not hundreds of millions of Americans take part, grinding the country to a halt, but not in the way they think. If tens of millions of corporate workers take part in the event and are subsequently fired, they will be unable to pay their mortgages, unable to spend on services in the wider economy — such as restaurants, hair salons, retail — and this could actually trigger an enormous wealth divide between the richest and poorest members of society (also defined in this example as the rich people who want to work, and the poorest people who refused to work and were therefore fired).

Who Does The Movement Want?

– Service workers
– Warehouse employees
– Truck drivers
– Uber / Lift Drivers (this is misspelled and is meant to say “Lyft”
– Delivery drivers
– Hotel staff
– Restaurant staff
– Retail work staff
– School staff/teachers/daycare staff

All of these people are called “working class” by those organizing the movement, which people who spoke to Million Voices on condition of anonymity said “seems like a dated, derogatory term, especially as these workers are essential to the economy.”

  1. The Moron and the stooges who are plan this fantasy protest are more important in their heads than in the real world. Yawn !!! Nothing will happen. In fact, employers should ask Any employee who falls for this that a doctor’s note must be provided or their pay will be doc’d . Note that the Tootsie is living well and do you think she could last three days without shopping or going onto the Net to buy stuff !!!

  2. Lol. The video was so perfect. You start with the vocal fry, the most annoying voice inflection ever, and you add to it the fact that she’s wearing a designer sundress, her hair is done, her makeup is done, her nails are done, and she’s clearly sitting in an upscale apartment or home with lots of unnecessary items on the shelf behind her for display and probably no practical purpose. She’s literally the kind of person who can be replaced in a heartbeat by AI and never be missed. I’d be shocked if she has any sort of real employment to begin with.

  3. This will only strengthen the case for AI for many roles (no sick time, can run 24/7). The ones that learn to use it in their jobs or re-skill will be the ones with jobs.
