Woman Arrested After Trying to Run Over Border Patrol Officer and State Trooper

A Maine woman has been arrested after allegedly attempting to run down a U.S. Border Patrol officer and a state trooper at the scene of a traffic accident in Knox County, as reported by The Western Journal.

The incident occurred when a box truck went off the road and struck a tree, according to the Bangor Daily News. Several passengers in the truck required medical attention, with two transported for treatment, including one airlifted by LifeFlight to a trauma center.

Maine State Police Trooper Jeremiah Wesbrock responded to assist sheriff’s deputies. When speaking with the driver of the truck, Wesbrock was shown a Colombian passport and a New York driver’s license.

Believing the driver and a passenger might be in the country illegally, Wesbrock contacted U.S. Border Patrol.

Border Patrol Capt. Willis arrived shortly thereafter to conduct interviews. At that point, authorities say 24-year-old Olivia G. Wilkins of Maine drove up in a Lexus and attempted to interfere.

Wesbrock wrote in an affidavit that Wilkins was told to leave the area and informed that she could not stop Border Patrol from performing its duties.

Instead, Wilkins allegedly revved her engine, squealed her tires, and turned her vehicle toward both officers. “I drew my issued firearm and pointed at the driver who swerved as I was pulling the trigger,” Wesbrock wrote in the affidavit.

A chase followed before Wilkins drove off the road and was taken into custody.

She was booked at the Knox County Jail and charged with multiple offenses, including driving to endanger, failure to stop for an officer, obstructing government administration, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

Wilkins initially had her bail set at $50,000, but according to WABI, she was released after posting only $500.

The incident took place as federal and local authorities were investigating the crash involving the truck and its passengers. Officials have not yet confirmed the immigration status of the individuals involved, though the case remains under review.

Court records indicate Wilkins faces several felony-level charges. If convicted, she could face significant prison time. Authorities have not confirmed a motive for her actions at the crash site.

  1. This will go to a Federal court.
Democrats said they could not close the border unless you passed a bill, and Trump closed it in a month.
