WOW: Democratic Party’s Appalling Performance in New Poll Stuns CNN Reporters

A startling new poll revealing the Democratic Party’s declining popularity has stunned even the most veteran CNN reporters.

The May 5 to May 26 CNN/SRSS poll [PDF] found that less than a fifth (16%) of Americans believe that the Democratic Party has strong leadership, leaving CNN reporters Manu Raju and David Chalian in disbelief. “That’s how Americans see the parties.

Which party is better described as the party with strong leaders? Look at this,” said Chalian, to which Raju responded with “Wow.” “16% of Americans say Democrats, 40% say that of the Republican Party. Now, overall, no party is doing great. Lots of Americans say neither of these qualities apply to either party,” Chalian added.

Nonetheless, most Americans (43%) believe that both parties lacked strong leadership. However, the Republican Party fared much better, with more than twice as many Americans believing it had strong leadership. Even Democratic voters do not believe that their party has strong leadership.

Barely a third (32%) of Democrat or Democratic leaning voters perceived their party as having strong leadership. In Contrast, more than eight in ten (82%) of Republican or GOP-leaning voters believe their party has strong leadership.

The Democratic Party also trailed the GOP on whether Americans believed it was the party of action. According to the CNN/SRSS poll, only 19% of the respondents believe the Democratic Party “can get things done.” In contrast, nearly twice as many Americans (36%) believe that the GOP was the party of action.

This is hardly surprising since the Democratic Party has been promising Americans “solutions” for the border crisis, but nothing was done in four years, while Biden napped in the White House. Surprisingly, a significant number of Americans (34%) still believe the Democratic Party represents the middle class, compared to 32% who thought the same of the GOP.

However, this was a close tie, with almost a similar (33%) number of respondents saying neither party represents the working class. However, only a quarter (25%) of the respondents believe the “party of blue hair and protests” was “the party of change,” compared to nearly a third (32%) who believe the GOP was capable of doing things differently.

Similarly, 29% of Americans believe that the Democratic party’s policy on “federal budget” aligned with their views, compared to 34% who approved of the GOP’s handling of the same.

Ultimately, the veteran CNN reporters conceded that the Democratic Party had systemic issues that resulted in the resounding defeat in 2024. “Yeah, and beyond the issues here, there’s some structural problems with the Democrats as well,” said Raju. “There are,” Chalian affirmed. “Again, this is where we ended up on election night in 2024.”

Meanwhile, the Independents had a skeptical view of both parties, with more than three-quarters (76%) perceiving them as neither having strong leaders nor capable of getting things done.

A nearly similar number (72%) of the Independent respondents said both parties did not represent change. It’s striking to see the Democratic Party performing so poorly despite being in control of the narrative through mainstream media.

Clearly, most Americans are beginning to see beyond the lies of the left.

  1. Polling companies have several different ways to get the polling results they want. One is that they keep lists of people that a certain “bias” for when their clients want a particular result. Other ways is to change the phrasing of the questions or fiddle with the sample populations, two to one democrats to republicans. If those things do not work they just run the survey multiple times and publish the one that has the results that is closest to the desired results.

With that in mind what are the real numbers of an unbiased poll, single digits?

    1. Option 3: Don’t get the polling responses you want, don’t turn the poll into a news story.
Option 4: Make up the poll numbers completely. Who’s checking and verifying the validity of anything they DECIDE to report?
Polls are for the ingorant, engaged CSPAN-types. Hi Pedro, thanks for taking my call.
