Business executive Howard Lutnick pointed to strong third-quarter economic growth in the United States as evidence that Americans are seeing tangible financial gains under President Donald Trump’s administration, contrasting the U.S. performance with slower or negative growth in other major global economies.
Lutnick compared economic data from several regions, emphasizing the gap between the United States and its international counterparts.
“Just think the whole world out there in the third quarter, the United Kingdom grew point one, the European Union grew point four, and Japan fell. Point 6% fell point 6%,” Lutnick said. “Donald Trump’s economy grew. The United States of America, the biggest economy in the world, 4.3%.”
He said that level of growth directly benefits American workers and families, translating into higher earnings across the board.
“What that means is that Americans, overall, the all of us, are going to earn 4.3% more money,” Lutnick said.
“We’re making a raise. It’s a simple way to do it.”
According to Lutnick, the economic expansion is being driven by a combination of increased employment, lower energy costs, and easing interest rates, all of which contribute to higher take-home pay.
“We’ve got more jobs, lower energy costs and lower interest rates coming,” he said.
Lutnick described the current trajectory as the beginning of a period of sustained prosperity, using language that suggested optimism for both the broader economy and household finances.
“This is the Golden Age coming, forthcoming,” he said.
“This is the Golden Age coming.”
He reiterated that the 4.3 percent growth figure is not just an abstract statistic but a real-world improvement for everyday Americans.
“4.3% this quarter means Americans, on average, are making more money, more money in their pocketbooks,” Lutnick said.
Lutnick concluded by tying the economic gains to consumer confidence heading into the holiday season.
“That makes for great Christmas,” he said.
